As Protestants decline, people with no religion, "Nones,"are rising in number. Protestants are less than half of Americans, while Nones are one in five.

 

Ehh.... I thought I'd convert the converters, when the jehova's whitnesses ambushed me with their "literature" about how science totally explains god, etc.

Needless to say, I spend a hour, and made NO headway, each time I'd say something (politely, of course, like "but I have a hard time with this particular facet of the bible, and it's presumptions, and implications about god" or whatever), they'd break out the circular logic, and think they actually convinced me... Because you see, god had to murder all the women and children, because god works in mysterious ways.... and mary totally asked for it, wearing that revealing toga.

I did manage to get a free hardback bible for my library, so it wasn't a total loss, though the experience and time can surely not be considered to be well spent, at the payout of a bible and allowing them to repeat their circular dogma, and burn it even deeper into their own (already severely dogma-addled) brains.

 

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. The Great I Am , the lamb of God
the holy one of Israel, Shalom God of Peace, Saviour, Loving Father, Counselor , Prince
of Peace, Emanuel , God With Us. The God that healeth thee. and Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

 

On Jehova witness , I got in a discussion with one . He told me I could only read parts of it , not the whole book , as they had disagremnts with some parts of the Bible .

 

Jesus is just another character in a fictional story.

 

There are some.
However, 86% of Croatians are Catholic.

 

So what is the difference between Catholics and other sects?
History is history but nowadays in practice is there really a difference?
To me they all believe in the same fictional story, perhaps just different adaptations.

 

If you don't even know the differences how can you conclude they all believe the same story?

 

To me any one that follows the words and believes in Christ is a Christan , but the Catholics have some different rituals and beliefs . It should be easy to find on the net .Many people are Catholic in name only , like my g.f. She knows very little about the church .
