Who is Jesus?

That sounds pretty meaningless to me. Sorry.

Why is it a concern now? Surely we look to him for guidance.

 

Who is jesus, someone alive? If not then the word represents a historical or mythical figure, i.e. figurehead of varying proportions.

 

I'm not sure if he was ever alive. I have no problem if he was. It is just his words being taken as the ultimate truth. We don't really know what he said. If he said anything of substance. Who is Jesus? We don't really know, imho.

Well I think all these Moses, Jesus, Mohamed if they existed were mentally unbalanced somehow..either with the help of psychotropics or a psychological disorder.
Nobody can look to him for guidance, since he doesn't exist now. You look for guidance with your local priest who interprets a novel his own way, or you try to interpret it your own way by yourself.

The point I was making was that the Essenes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essenes had a some what different belief system as did Jews at the time of Jesus or the early Chirstians . A lot changes as they were putting there system togher . desert rat

 

What do Christians follow now?

 

As I understand Chirstanity , they follow the words of Christ . More or less the laws of Moses ( 10 commandments ) Mathew , Mark ,Luke John, ect. They accept Jesus as lord and savour ect. desert rat

The Bible was written many years after the life and death of Jesus , so it is possable that Mathew , Mark , Luke , and John , made him up , or he is a composite of several guys .
