could somebody please tell me why I have white spots on my fingernails?
It can't be zink difficiancy, nor calcium or magnesium difficiancy, I have enough of those.

What is it? Any help here would be appreciated! ^^
    thanks. ^^

It can be any of a bunch of mineral deficiencies.

oh, i learned about this in cosmetology class when we were studying nails. its called leukonychia and are usually just caused by you hitting your nails on something. other reasons are that you have an allergic reaction to nail harderners, artificial nails, etc. and also could be due to a lack of zinc or protein. there may have been other reasons, but i have forgotten cuz i took that class nearly 2 years ago haha. hope i helped :)

Are you consumng soy milk? I had the same problem when I used to consume soy milk. these days I am a wholefood person. It is a symptom of calcium deficiency. Don't forget you need adaquate amounts of vitamin D in order to absorb calcium.

Yeah, they say the white marks on your fingernails represent how many people currently dig you. I think only two people dig me right now according to my nails, but it might take a little acetone to uncover the truth....

How do you know you are not deficient in zinc?

What is your sugar intake like? In Chinese medicine white spots on the fingernails indicate an incident of large sugar consumption. The location of the spot will supposedly tell the approximate date the sugar was eaten. Usually your nail will replace itself within 6-9 months. Maybe take a look at the location of the spots to see if you notice a correlation. I would be interested to know. If you are a sugar-a-holic this could account for the spots being all over you nail. Just thought I would share this with you all. I have no clue as to the validity of it.

That is what I thought. Try avoiding soy milk and see if it makes any difference.

its about the calcium! and you can get it from milk.
And there is one good thingy to do to get strong nails:
put lots of salt into warm water and hold yer nails in it about 30minutes and more. The thingy is that You have to do it more than once a week and I promise You will get healthy and strong nails :)

    thanks,
but like I said, I get my calcium.
    and I wouldn't be so sure about milk. Milk uses more calcium than it has! ^^;

but thanks for the fingernail tip. I'll keep it in mind!

    no...soymilk?
oh my, that's gonna be tough.
but I'll try that sometime, thanks! ^^

    thanks everybody else too! :)

hei this salt thingy.. relaax its just yer nails, it keeps them healthy and I mean I promise It will help you as you try it.. it has to be supersaturated solution and I bet You will get good nails! (yer not drinking this fucking salt inside, so eat whatever you want, just its the best and the fastest way of taking care of yer nails). As you are eating the minerals and allkind of vitamines and so on, its not helping you that fast. So Just chill, trust me.. just remember.. as you get white spots on yer fingernails, its not killing you or giving you any disease at all, just relaaaax.. ;)
