I see a lot of personal attacks on HF. Are we all supposed to be cool about it? Do mods take action against it? It's just kind of a drag to see people being insulted, called names, mocked, etc... eace: edit: If I posted this in the wrong place, sorry man.
where did you see this happening? there was a thread today in RT for swearing and people were swearing at eachother and shit but that was all in good fun, along with the "what you don't like about the poster above you" thread... not sure if that's what you're talking about
you should have been here a couple months ago... i think an occasional personal attack is a good thing. some people need to be attacked to keep their egos in check. theoretically, the mods are supposed to try to weed out such attacks, but there's not enough mods to keep up with every post, and the ones we do have also sometimes participate in the attacking, or just let it go for other reasons. if you see a post that is just inexcusable, there is a "report post" option under the poster's avatar. i believe that sends a message to the particular forum's moderator showing the post in question. this way, they are at least aware of it, and much more likely to take action if there is a legitimate problem. just don't go reporting every post you don't like, because that will just waste the mods' time and they'll have even less time to do more important jobs, like removing spam.
report it if you dont like it....but try to keep in mind that a lot or most of it is between friends who realize that its just friendly kidding
Mostly i think its expected for everyone to use their "ignore" button - that's cyberspace for ya! But i have to say, all the bashing on these forums seems less than hip - i agree, where's the love?
Yeah, it is sad. I've been attacked a couple of times, but that's the internet for you. It happens I guess.. There are always going to be people who act that way, whether its in here, or in rl

so true..people have different opinions of whats funny....trippinballz started an intro thread and i joked about his post and said that I also trip on my balls due to my extra long scrotum...his reply..''hey fuckface..keep your canadian views to yourself''....
It is not to bad, there are a few really bored people who result to being like trolls though and nit pick.
Honestly, I noticed it a lot and don't post too often cause I'm a bit sensitive and don't really like to have crap said to me.. even on the internet. I know it's silly, but some of us really do take attacks online personal, so we have to be careful. I'm a very "love all" type of person and try to avoid negativity at all cost. = )
