I was just wondering where you buy your bookss Do you go to the local barnes and nobles, borders whatever major bookstore is around... How about internet sites.. like amazon I love walking aroung the bookstore and seeing andholding the books.. but I normaly end up buying my books used from amazon or abe.com.... (or from the used book store i work at)
Amazon rocks my socks. When I visit the states though, I grab 100$ and go on a book buying renzy to Barnes and Noble.
I usually "test them out" at barnes and noble then go home and buy them through target.com who gets them from amazon. I have saved soooooo much money! as much as I'd like to just buy them while I'm there, barnes and noble can be so expensive! I Love hanging out there and reading though
I just remembered someone told me you can find used books in really good condition (sometimes) through ebay and save a lot of money that way. I haven't bought any through them yet but I'd like too.
Coles (Canadian company I think) usually, and used book stores otherwise, or else the library rummage sales (as many books as you want for whatever you feel like donating). When my mom and I visited Portland Or last summer, we bought about three dozen books from Powell's in one go :S mmmm books. I like Coles though.... they're near my work, they'll order in for no extra charge, and the people are really friendly. Plus they have some freakin great sales, and their sale displays are in the front (I have way too many cookbooks from there)
I buy books at the Goodwill, secondhand book stores, and if there's something I really want to read that I can't find elsewhere, Barnes & Noble. I found all of the books except one from Jean M. Auel's Children of the Earth series at the Goodwill. It made my day.
Nowhere in particular. I like going to Barnes and Nobles and Borders, and Ariel's is a nice local book store, but I don't neccassarily get most of my books from those places. Sometimes they have good stuff at the college book store, and even the supermarket has goodness (though rarely). Wherever they sell books, you'll find me looking at them.
Online I buy books from Amazon and Ebay. Locally,I buy from Borders or Waldens. There are two good used book stores here, also. The book I'm reading right now came from a yard sale for 50 cents
I used to help set up a rummage sale at my synagogue, and as a reward for volunteering, they used to let me pick one think that I wanted out of everything there. I almost always picked a book. That's actually where I got my first Stephen King book (Pet Sematary). The ironic thing was that they always gave me stuff because they wanted me to keep helping them set up, but I would have gone even if they didn't. I really liked doing that kind of stuff.
Ebay... I get all my books for philosophy and literature classes there, as well as summer readings. It can be great because often times they're already at least partially annotated (which is something that I HATE doing because it takes my attention away from the book) and I can see things a different way. Plus it's dirt cheap. We also have tent sales at the local bookstore and the library has sales every few months and I end up getting 30 books for $10, but it's always more or less a grab bag of what you can find so if I need something specific, I always go for Ebay.
Sadly I buy them from big corporations such as Borders or Barnes and Nobles because the selection is great.
I rarely buy books, I use the libary. But when I do buy books I normally use a discount book store called The Works near my house or I might use Borders sometimes.
I like half.com. It's a part of Ebay that's mainly focused on books so they'll have almost anything you want. I've gotten good quality books there for 25 cents.
