When and how will you teach your kids about sex? Will you adopt a different attitude for boys as opposed to girls?

Personally I think you tell them truthfully and respectfully what they ask for. No need to confuse with more than just what they ask about.

I do not hold the view that boys and girls should be taught different values. However they must know about birth control and STD's etc. They should be allowed to enjoy sex but have respct for other people's feelings.

I'll teach them as truthfully and as comprehensively as possible. I'd like them to understand the basics of it before the age five.

I am a parent. My oldest is 9 yrs old and sex has been a progressive explanation. AT, kids just aren't eqipped mentally beofre the age of 5 to understand sex. They are JUST realizing that there are people with different body parts and are still learning this simple difference let alone sex.

My daughter has always asked questions here and there and I take those opportunities to dive deeper into the subject.

Right now she is not as much interested in hearing about sex as she was about a year ago...now she is more interested in puberty.

Sexuality is something that keeps coming up....She has asked if she can marry a girl. My response is yes, she can marry anyone that shows her love and respect. It doesn't matter sex they are

So really, I think sex should be on ongoing discussion modified to their maturity level. I have read tons of parenting books and a few on sex (pertaining to parenting) and this seems to be the best way imo.

My little guy is 4 and still thinks everyone is a boy.... I couldn't imagine trying to explain sex to him LOL ....

Ill do exactly as my mother did, just because she got it spot on. I never walked around believing mad fairy stories, or not knowing how babies were made, or wondering if men had the same genitalia as me. Because my mother openly spoke about these things in conversation with me since i can remember. She spoke to me as if i was an adult even when i was a child. And let me know she was always there if i ever wanted to ask questions. So i did ask, and learnt all.

    Xx
