    Just a general question....
When will enough in not just the US, but the world, realize that we can't keep on sucking up so many resources, we can't keep oppressing the poor, we can't keep insisting our way of life on others.....
The question is : Realistically, when will enough rise up and demand drastic change to the point of economic and social upheaval?
    Please state your reasons so....
    10 years, 1 year, 100 years???

    Hard to speculate. Hopefully soon.

But I suspect that mother nature will cast us out much sooner than we realize.

If you are talking about just sweeping social change ennacted by the populace, well it could be a while. 15-20 years till our government becomes totalitarian enough to be overthrown by the public.

BUT, if you bring economic collapse, global war, ecological disasters, seismic events, disease epidemics, religious end times, and what not into the picture...

Well, I personally believe we will see drastic change within the next 0-10 years and be living in a radically different world within the next 12 years.

Whheeeee!! At least the waiting will be over, lol.

I'm afraid that this could only happen when someone finally destroys television and Americans begin to read again... and I don't mean fiction romance novels or anything, I mean read about important issues in the world and the people behind them. Americans, for some reason, lack the desire to learn and explore anymore.

Also, I can't see that truly happening until people realize that conservative views are mostly hogwash and that blindly following an ancient religion without thinking twice is idiotic. Until then... who knows.

We all know how "upsetting" it is to see an exposed breast on T.V. anymore. With those kind of people still around, I can't see true change anytime soon... but that's just me.

The shit won't hit the fan all out once. It will happen gradually so that due to our own stupidity we will obliviously adapt to our increasingly shitty environment and accept it as normal. Then, if god has any mercy, a commet will come and destroy us all. (I personally think nuclear destruction is more likely than a commet, but earth has survived commets before, so that would be the preferable option.)

I think within 2 years, but it's groundwork has already been laid out in the past 10 years, mainly birthing in 1999 Seatle, and obviously growing due to the massive protests. People are more involved politically now than ever, people are more interested in politics now than ever. sadly though, most people think that Kerry is some kind of savior. he's not. he's the other side of the puppet.

but, i think a significant minority will realize the truth about our system and world system, and hopefully something large will stem from there. all that bullshit about the 60s being dead, is a fucking joke. if anything, it's grown larger and larger. the only difference is, the media no longer chooses to acknowledge it's existence.

I say changes will be forced upon the masses starting in 5 years or less. That's just my reaction after reading "The Party's Over." I could be wrong....

i strongly believe that some big change will happen soon.

i dont know what the change will be, and by soon that could be within a few weeks, a few years, a few centuries... who knows.

Any way, i don't think we should worry too much about big changes, upheavel, the collapse of society etc. becuase even if it got so extreme that society collapsed or completely changed life would still go on...

    ....there would be aboriginal humans
....there will be survivors of the old 'society'
....there will be animals who will surbvive, no doubt (there are animals which live off the volcanic vents at the bottom of the sea where the light doesnt even reach)

....so who cares? go with the flow is my motto :sunglasse :D

I hate to tell you people but the selfish and greedy aren't having a heart change in their lives so consider that the length of the present generation plus their kids will be the length of continued popular agression against minority ideas of any sort. Of course whatever and whichsoever of us pushed back the morphagenic field of making love will not even so much as need to worry just as it has always been. Some people live for power and wealth, some for the power and wealth of the moment.

The selfish and greedy rarely have a heart change. The selfish and greedy have been around since before there was money and war..... But that doesnt always stop a revolution

Well if you look at past wars/revolutions they are normaly started because of an unbalance of power. This unbalace initaites the less balanced to action. Ie World War II Hitler sure had alot going for him in tearms of power then he was acted against

In the French Revolution the poor were starving and had no say in government, Oddly enough it was the rich arostocratic class that opened the path for the poor to begin their revolution.

And i wont get into the american revolution because, having grown up in america i know they must have omitted somehting that drasticly changes the interpretation to the start of the revolution

i think we will start to see changes when the people have had their fill with hollywood hogwash and they see how they have been cheated and lyed to by the government/bussiness
