My first public lesbian kiss was at our wedding, five months after we met. When the minister said, "I pronounce the two of you marrried, you may now kiss," I was a little nervous at first, but afterward it felt very liberating. Of course, everyone present knew that we were lesbians, but there were a few guests I had just met that day. A few weeks later, we had our first public French kiss. We were on a dinner cruise and stopped halfway for a wine tour. Which we refused, neither of us felt comfortable walking such a long distance in 4-inch heels, and besides, we preferred to feed our cigarette addictions. Today, French kissing in public is not such a common practice, but when we meet in public, for example in the supermarket, or when we meet at work, we always kiss briefly.
My first encounter kissing another woman was with a nurse I worked with long ago. Although we are still friends we no longer have a “romantic” relationship. Anyway she was charming a sweet, kind and gentle, always attentive to any small need I had. We met while working on the same unit in the hospital. We developed a friendship and that quickly developed into a romance. The tricky thing was I just got married only several months ago. But this romance happened. It was wonderful.
