    ~*ahhhh... my first thread ~
*i'm super dooper psyched about summer hittin' the prairies after a long long flat windy winter ~ ready to wear my feet bare, groovy orange cotton knickers with a vintage knit daisy i sewed onto the back pocket, apron tops, long and lite patchwork skirts, hemp fairy crown ~ i *love* my summer wear (and sometimes sneak into it in mid-winter just to feel all sun~shiny and summery) ~ what do you absolutely *love* to wear on your summery bod when the sun hits this spectacular earth??*

well, actually, my birthday suit is my most comfortable summer outfit, but usually around the house if no one's around, i just wear a sarong!

i love tank tops. they're so cool and comfy. i have 2 identical faded black tanks that i wear with everything. i have a tux shirt that i ripped the arms off of. sometimes i wear vests with no shirt, like a top, especially with a really full skirt. i like wearing long, long, breezy, swishy skirts, soleless sandals and lots of jingly jewelry or homemade hemp. i like black jeans, turned into bell-bottoms or ragged cut-offs. when it's really hot, i'll wear one of my decent exposures bras as a bra top, but i'm not that comfortable with the lingering effects of my last pregnancy on my body, so i tend to keep my stomach covered when there's people around.

my favorite thing to wear in the summer, or any time of year, is this very full, simple skirt i made from several yards of baby blue calico. i just stitched the ends together, made a casing for elastic at the waist, and ripped the hem. it's all hand-sewn because my machine was down. the hem has gotten all tattered and ragged and mud-stained over the years. my husband says it looks like a kitchen curtain because of the calico. the hippy thing kind of gets to him. it makes my already thick middle look even heavier because of all the gathered fabric at the waist, but i don't care. it's still my favorite skirt!

for starwood, i wear the bra tops or tank, and a sarong, or swishy skirt. i used to go wild with the festival clothes, getting all gothed-up wearing lots of fishnet, shimmery scarves, ragged lace & little else, but now i find it's too much work when it's hot, and my body just doesn't look good in stuff like that anymore. i'm trying to come up with better looking festival wear, now that my body has begun to lose in the battle against time.

I've got a really see-through top with really floaty sleeves I love. And I just bought a new skirt, that's going to be big in my wardrobe this summer ;)

Cotton anything --- can't stand to be hot! T-shirts and shorts mainly. And my Finn sandals (like Birkenstocks without the toe ridge, which I can't wear because of nerve damage in my feet).

It's fun to see my almost grown daughter in her sarong/tanktop/50 lbs. of jewelry.

In the summer, I love wearing a tee-shirt (preferably, a groovy tie-dyed) and jean shorts. Also, I love wearing sandals, speaking of which, I need to buy. Oh, and I can't forget sunglasses.

I found some wonderful pants that are so flowy. They are HUGE! like I could fit 6 legs in each pant leg. But the material is really silky like and I really love them, they flow wonderfully when dancing. The only problem is getting tangled in them, but you learn to walk in them. I'm thinking of making another pair like them.

I also really enjoy wearing soft thin dress, but I usually just wear pajama pants and my old shirts, the ones warn practically to see through.

And, even though this is quite punk, I like wearing wrist bands, because I can wipe the sweat on my face when I bike, and it totally absorbs it. My fav. one I have has a Gir (from invader zim) riding a pig, I also have one with my sign (cancer). I dont know, maybe I'm just weird :D

i think its funny to see all these punks wearing the stupid sweat wristbands. lol, only some look awesome. but those that you see in hot topic are worn by everybody. its kinda annoying=). something about it isn't natural looking.

i wear open baggy pants (they don't sag they are just wide), sandals, my band shirts/other favorite shirts, all my jewelery so it glitters in the sun. and probably never caught without sunglasses.

during summer school i tend to stick to darker colors though as my friends are stoners and we seem to all blend in together. with the blacks/greys/dark blues/ ect. its quite funny.
