I don't have that many diving stories since i ain't been doing it long so the best i've found so far is like 20 sandwhiches.
my dad is an avid dumpster diver and he finds all sorts of cool stuff. only things i have found and taken are: clothing, a chair, veggies, bread, books, houseplants and rolls butcher paper for drawing.
a huge black bag of fucking donuts!! and muffins! and brownies! it was awesome. sometimes i get day old rolls and put some hot sauce on them :drool5: good stuff.
There were loads of different kinds, bacon and chicken, chicken and stuffing, egg and cress etc. There were way too many to eat at the time so i took a few home, gave some out to friends and left the rest on top of the bin so anybody who wanted could just get them.
I found matches, energy healing book, and a groovy wool scarf at just one site too. I met these boys while i was doing it too http://www.myspace.com/seizethekarp
an art portfolio full of bookmarks, art supplies, and a photo of a really cute asian/african american guy with dreadlocks! seriously, I wish I could find that guy... very cute.
Years ago my girlfriend's brother became a born again Christian and dumped nearly 3,000 compact disks in a dumpster. I grabbed them in a heart beat and don't think it changed Jesus's affinity for me one bit.
Been dumpstering all my adult life. Furniture, clothes, books, the lot. It doesn't take long to develop a trained eye and then it's easier to spot good stuff in amongst the crap. It's also good to know the days that the truck comes to empty them because (in my area anyway) the night before is when all the good stuff gets put out.
Oh, i forgot to mention i once found 2kg of organic sunflower seeds behind a health food store; that was a pretty good find.
