Is this the only man in the world who cannot be bought? he was offered insane loot for a reunion and said absolutely not. I used to blame Roger Waters for the half-ass Pink Floyd that we've known the last 20 years, but I see that it was Gilmours fault all along. Why isnt that every other band can reunite and this one cant? and i dont just mean for four songs that i still havent heard. anyone know of good downloads for them?

you re absolutely rýght. he was very snobby in G8, and i could see that roger waters was very happy and lonely.gilmour wasn 't even lookýng at water's side. i am sure gilmour was sayýng to himself " i wonder when the concert will finish, and get out of here far from waters".he wasn't even playýng the guýtar desiringly. (note: i ve never heard somebody who like the album "the final cut")

you have to understand that dave gilmour did nothing but tour with the band...... never had time to be with his family, especially in the 70s. he has a new family now with polly samson, and he wants to be there for his kids. a tour would keep him away for a good year or even longer....... he is getting up there in age, and he wants to be a good father, why do you people expect more out of him??

David Gilmour is one of the best guitarists of all time. He made mind blowing guitar sounds on "Dark Side Of The Moon".

You haven't heard Wish You Were Here, Money, Breathe, or Comfortably Numb? The only song more popular than those had to be Another Brick in the Wall.

I think he meant he hadn't heard the Live 8 performances of them yet...

They were excellent by the way! I was there, and me and my friends were just so amazed by them! Dave Gilmours actually touring his solo stuff this year, but only for about 4/5 dates (In UK at least) and they're already sold out.

A reunion would have been AWESOME, but I understand why gilmour didn't want to do it. He's doing a solo tour right now. Maybe in the future?

I understand completely why Dave wouldn't want to reunite with Roger. By 1975 Roger had assumed complete control of the band. He was a Tyrant. No one else was allowed their own ideas or even a say in their direction. Rick was forced from Pink Floyd during The Wall, and Nick has later said that Roger's comments practically rendered him unable to drum, as he thought he was shit as a drummer (which is completely untrue, I think he's one of the most underrated drummers ever).

Now I think Roger Waters is a complete genius. I love him as a songwriter and he's a good bassist. I love what he did with the band after Syd left (I'm not a big Syd Barrett era Floyd fan). However, as a person, Roger was extremely difficult to get along with. Very arrogant and controlling.

Even Eric Clapton, who played guitar on "Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking has said he was difficult to work with.

So as much as I would love Love LOVE a Pink Floyd reunion, I can understand why Pink Floyd wouldn't want a Pink Floyd reunion.
