Anyone else notice that there seems to be more and more little thug wannabe's popping up? Or surely we all know atleast one girl that seems to be attracted to these thugs, white or black it doesn't matter it's not a race thing. have i missed something, why is this culture so popular?
same could be said for "indy," "goth," "emo," and so on. pretty much all images and roles people strive to fulfill, consciously or unconsciously, are pretty fucking lame. people just want to fit in one way or another. this is just one more example. another key example is so-called "hippies," but they aren't necessarily on the rise....just lame.
I guess the distinction should be made that most of the other styles aren't centered on violence and dissrespect toward women.
I don't understand the attraction myself.Part of it may due to all the cRAP music and junk shown nowadays on tv.There is NOTHING unique, appealing or cool about it,and fortunately we do not have much of it here.
I actually saw some show with that rapper T.I trying to go around and teach young kids not to be gangsters. I thought that was pretty cool, i always thought tupac was a hipcrate because he would do interviews and tell people not to be in gangs then he would go make a gangsta rap album.
Yeah, what about those damn hippies in the 60s? Why did everyone wanna be a veggie eatin', dope smokin activist? lol it's all the same. Labels are for douche bags, ima do me, you do you. xD
haha:cheers2: i primarily mean the teenagers and 20-somethings with their storebought patchwork shorts, hemp jewelry, phish tshirts and birkenstocks.....you know the type i mean...fratboys in birks. people trying to play a role, who are far from the genuine article....not that there is anything wrong with these people, but i think its annoying. nothing wrong with legit hippies, so long as they're just true to themselves. but when its someone just seeking validation by belonging, by identifying with some subculture, i think its kinda pathetic. not lame as in crippled.... anyway, "thug" is a vast, negative generalization of a particular subculture. most of these people that i've known are NOT particularly violent, and while misogyny is a bit of an issue that can't be denied, but its still not a rule but a rather sweeping generalization.
I guess, maybe i'm just seeing the "style" and assuming they are into guns and gangbangin and disrespecting women.
technically i have said bad boy image (or so i have been told) i don't really think so myself. Like i said may be i just don't understand it therefor i am making a generalazation
yeah, i think its just assumptions besides, there are plenty of examples of rap music with good messages, or expressing love, compassion, all sorts of things. humans are humans with human problems and human emotions and human passions. some dress or speak differently. whatever, idk
Also in American culture adolescence(sp?) seems to go way past age 18 nowadays. It used to be when you were 18 you were considered to be an adult and acted in an adult manner.
no good parking spot for you, sorry. first come first serve oh, i suppose you could like break your leg with a hammer or something if you wanted one.
