I've had people dying around me for the past few years, and it really doesn't even shock me that much any more.

Jesse Hall, a good friend of mine, died in Afghanistan.
Brandon Dunston was shot to death after egging a mans truck
Striker Searcy shot to death in a drug deal
My friend Nick Lee was shot in the back in a drug deal and my friend Austin was shot in the face during the same incident.

That's just the tip of the ice berg.

I'm interested to know if you speak ill of the dead while your within earshot of the deceased person's relatives?

My thoughts about a person doesn't change. Be they good people or bad when they were alive.. Who I share those thoughts with does change.. It's still somebody's relative.. Still somebody'd loved one... Just because I didn't like them doesn't mean nobody did..

 

Just because they are dead doesnt mean im going to azzrape the corpse. Some respect is good.

 

I try to refrain from speaking ill of the deceased in front of their parents and parents alone, as parents often don't know the shit their kids do after a certain age. If anybody else though starts talking about how great somebody was knowing they were a complete douche, I will call them on it.

It seems that after a person dies people only want to remember the good things. Like the bad shit never happened. Fuck that. If you're an asshole, I'm going to tell the story that you're an asshole whether you're dead or alive.

Respect for the dead in general. I thought of this after somebody called a deceased woman "unattractive" the other day. Everybody jumped her ass about it, but she'd seen a picture before the woman passed away and probably thought she was unattractive then as well. I thought she was ugly when I saw a picture of her and that didn't change because she passed away.

Same thing applies for anything else. I don't care what others think/thought about somebody; if I have a negative feeling about you I'm going to express it. Period. I shouldn't have to show you "respect" because you died. Fuck that.

 

Agree with you right up to the point where you say you'd tell the story.. What's in my head is enough for me.. I have no desire and really no need to tell people what I knew about them, even when I hear the bullshit that hides what they were really like.

Yet again, it comes down to our words serving no purpose..

 

Fuck that. I'm not going to sit back and watch somebody get made to be a saint when they were a complete ass bag. No way, no how. Nobody is going to mitigate the bad things somebody has done in an attempt to get peoples sympathy in my presence. I had to beat up a kind a while back because he kept going on and on about how great some kid was and when I started reminding him of the shit that kid did that probably lead up to him getting shot up, he wanted to buck on me.

If you live your life like an asshole you don't deserve praise just because your dead. This goes for me too.

i dont care if they know it or not, but if someone i love is dead then i will fucken knock someone who tries to talk shit. My god youre an asshole. maybe youve just never lost someone you are close to but im pretty sure you would want to respect them.

 

I'm sorry, but if you love somebody and I hate them I'm just as entitled to my thoughts as you are to yours.

Never lost someone I'm close to? Two good friends of mine from highschool are dead. Don't talk to me about loss, I've been there the same as you have. Perhaps nobody you've loathed has ever died? I've been on both sides of the fence, multiple times.

 

dont talk to you about loss? i am the one that should be talking. you shouldnt have gone there. even if you hated someone you should still have enough fucken respect for their family & friends not to talk shit. ive experienced more loss than most people do in a lifetime, and im young. and i know better than to say some of the shit youve been saying

 

Respect? I'll show respect to the parents as I said because more often than not they don't know about the dirt their kids do, and I'm not going to be the one to tell them. I'm entitled to my opinion about somebody just as anybody else is though. I'm not going to go out of my way to diss on somebodies dead friend, but if you bring up the conversation, I'm going to be honest whether you like it or not.

That's the way it is. I'm not happy to see anybody die, but just because they're dead I'm not automatically going to be respectful to them if they had no respect for others while they were alive. As far as knowing better than to say some of the things I've been saying. You don't "know better" you just think differently. That's all it really is.

 

I think it's based on most peoples fear of death, this sorta reverence of the dead thing.

Maikng a tuna melt and a "how was your day" will mean much more to someone you love, then a ten thousand dollar you are dead spectacle.Right now is the time to show your loved ones how you feel. Funerals are for the living.

At the same time, I'm not going to hold a grudge aginst someone who's dead.

I'm not going to really say anyone deserved to die either. It's going to happen to all of us, but when someone dies young, they're missing any chance at redeeming themselves even if they are a thug.
