What's a good alternative to candy/snacks? Be serious.

    I'm trying to find some sort of food that is a healthy alternative to snacks (candy, chips, etc.) that will still satisfy the munchies. Any ideas?

    Ok good start but what about dried fruits? Something along that line. Something that's easy to find in stores, that doesn't need to be refrigerated.

    I eat cheese and crackers.... dip apples in fat free vanilla yogart... dip raw veggies in fat free veggie dip..

    granola, nuts, healthy sandwiches, brown rice that is seasoned really good, fruit, yogurt, smoothies, whole grain pasta with light parmesean cheese on it, sauted zucchini, squash, eggplant...., veggie broth, veggie broth with veggies or whole grain pasta in it....

    ooohhh a good one is make a trail mix.. nuts.. rasins.. m&m's.. and whatever else you want to add.. just keep it in a zip lock bag...

    I like macadamia nuts and almonds. Also cheese and crackers.

    I like how you went from light snacks to dinner.

    I think I'm going to make up a cheerios/dried fruit mix. That sounds good.

    well those "dinner" things can be snacks if you eat them in portions that are... you know, like the size of sides. i do that a lot.

    ever heard of veggie bears? They are gummi bears made with vegitables. Good shit, and healthy too.

    If I've taken certain substances, I find eating apples incredibly funny......that could be just because I buy the ridiculously firm apples so they're a little hard to eat with even a normal mindset....but I love to snack on apples, granola bars, baby carrots and cheerios.

    I'm snacking on some fruit salad right now;kiwis, papayas, grapes strawberries, melons and pinapple...pretty damn yummy. I like quark and rye vita crisps, high protein non-fat chocolate cookies, low fat yogurt, soy crisps (my fav new snack), tofu mousse (from health food store it just has tofu, lemon juice and honey in it or chocolate blended together), spurlina bars and small carribean craze jamba juice with carrot juice instead of pinapple juice with protein powder. and bananas with almond butter
    I spent an entire hour in a healthy foods store today...very interesting field trip...lol
