this isn't a tattoo, lol. I drew it on myself the other day and a lady from school asked what the hell I was doing there and why I wasn't doing something that was pursuing a career in tattooing, which is really what I would like to be doing.
Just wanted to see what some other people thought.
lol, my mom thought that it was real...

that is absolutely wonderful. :gorgeous: great use of color and a beautiful design.

are you still in college pursuing a career as a nurse/midwife?

is working as a tattoo artist's something you would rather pursue?

while going to college, trying to replace our stolen car and just living in general, i can't really afford it right now. why?

    and to everyone else, thankyou.
bkcmar, yeah, I am still in college pursuing the nurse/midwife career :) Thanks for remembering! Although I am enjoying it right now, it seems so mundane at the same time. Before I was pregnant, I had recieved an offer for a scholarship to get my cosmetologist's degree and was working on getting an apprenticeship at the tattoo/piercing shop in town.
When I got pregnant I figured that it wouldn't be stable enough...now I'm having second thoughts.

Argh, I know how that goes kirstyn. I would love to apprentice for a piercing profession but my parents don't think it's stable! But I mean, fantasy world aside, it would be nice to have a great job that pays well so your kids can live comfy. I know that's what I would like for my family! It's a toss up though. It's a "which one makes you happiest" issue and those never work out well.
As for the drawing, it is kick ass. It really looks real!

Thats exactly what happened to me. I was going to have a piercing apprenticeship and get a degree in massage therapy before I got pregnant. But it really didn't seem like a solid career, so I'm going to school for early child development, and I'm looking into midwifery. I just really don't know which direction to go in. My boyfriend is a tattoo artist, but since hes new in the business he has having a hard time getting a solid job, and so hes working in a furniture factory for the time being. which really blows. he hates it. It's so hard to make choices about what you're going to do with the rest of your life.. especially when you have a child to raise. it's so frustrating.

Well, I'm glad you have the interest, and are confident in your skills.

However, how do you expect you want to give tattoos when you've never even gone through the experience of receiving one?

I'd personally rather have someone who knows what they're doing, with experience, and a real foot in the culture. Though when there's a will, there's a way. If you have a passion for it, no matter what you do, you will be successful. All the best.

everyone has to start somewhere. i think you should do what makes you happy, and things will work out somehow if you really want it.

Never said that I wasn't planning on getting one, hannah, I just can't afford it at the moment. I couldn't even get a tattoo until 2 years ago (till i tured 18), and I've been pregnant since then and really didn't have to $$$ to pay for a good artist afterward considering we're poor, have a baby, are going to college and are just barely scrapping by. In the summer, I got a quote of $500 for a simple vine on my foot...only shop around here and the oppertunity hasn't exactily come up.

But yeah, thanks everyone for all the compliments! I have actually been able to get back into drawing again from all the positive support everyone has been giving me!

That's absolutely lovely. Being a tattoo artist would be a good choice for you, given your freehand talents even without ink.
