https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naFCdBYexB0 (LOL, on the drums, keith moon, [badumbadabumbum] LOL, fantastic!) i was watching this great commercial the other day and thought Oke, so what would be your ultimate supergroup? members would have to be alive, so no Jim Morrison & hendrix oke anything goes, artist don't have to be from the same scene's or anything. alright here's mine; Vocals: David Bowie Lead Guitar: Pete Townshend Rythem Guitar: Kyle Gass Drums: Dave Grohl Bass: Jack Bruce Keyboards: Booker T. Jones or maybe John "Rabbit" Bundrick & On sax; Hollands very own Candy Dulfer
hmm..... vocals....thats a toughie...i like a lot of dead artists... vocals...David Crosby(cuz he can rock and croon) Guitar... Clapton or Jack Bruce....oohhh....Prince is a badass guitarist....yes...Prince Bass....Les Claypool or Flea Keyboards...gotta go with Booker T drums...Max Weinberg...no contest and you gotta have a sweet horn section
Best band, right here : Vocals : David Bowie (Sorry I know I ripped that one off you, but he is the man ) Lead Guitar : Steve Howe Rythm (And lead, but not as much) Guitar : Steve Hackett Bass : Johnny Dyani Keyboards : Tony Banks (come on people!) Drums : Okay Temiz
Vocals - Matt Barlow Lead Guitar - Dave Mustaine Rhythm Guitar and 2nd Vocals - James Hetfield Lead Bass - Les Claypool (In a metal mood) Drums - Vinnie Paul
Relayer: nah man i don't blame you for anything, he's the man alright! you're probably already onto this but; If you like Bowie in a more anounimous Lead singer mode, you'de have to check out Tin Machine (I) (i love that album so much! This is David, sick of his superstar status, so he formed a band like G&R / Pixies. Amazing band, amazing guitar licks, and ofcourse fanastic lyrics, dealling with inner city racism & coruption and such. Very Raw! Well ofcourse, Cream & Zep were already Supergroups, a little leftovers from the Yardbirds. Imagine, Led Zep was actually gonna be Keith Moon and John Entwhistle for a while! Peace to you all
Cool! It was a hard decision for me, because I had to choose between Don Cherry, David Bowie, and Peter Gabriel. OH and Jon Anderson
Well, kind of hard to make a serious supergroup because the members must be willing of course and they need to make chemistry with eachother. Nevertheless I'd like this: Vocals: Ronnie J. Dio Guitar: Richie Blackmore Bass: Geezer Butler Drums: well, Bill Ward would be fine. Keyboard: Tony Carey Maybe it does looks lame because the members all come from only two different bands, but this sounds like a supergroup to me!
vocals: justin timberlake lead guitar: prince bass: randy jackson drums: dana carvey keyboards: alicia keys
ronnie jame dio!! brilliant!! and geezer...let me tell you, his shit aint that easy to play and someone said dave mustane??? NIIIIICE
I don't see how Dio on vocals makes a band too much Tenacious D, but I'm not a fan of the D anyway. Didn't liked that song Dio at all, very pretentious and not humorous (if it even was supposed to be that).
rick wakeman; keyboards klaus shultze; keyboards and percussion erby mann; flute marry youngblood; flute brian eno; diggerie doo the monkey c crew; gamalon i forget his name; sakahachi i have no name for him/her; base claranet someone celtic; clearsah someone else celtic; illan pipes sigh zenthner, slide trombone maybe mikael graham on electric base chick chorria, hammond b3 someone on french horn. ian anderson; flute probably no vocal lead, and you'll notice, no saxiphones, lead guitars, probably few or no bowed strings, except maybe that celtic guy who'se a freind of j. donald walters, who'se name i keep forgetting, though he IS internationaly well known. nattalie hoss, who plays chellow with him sometimes. and no snared drums either, but plenty of bells and tympany. maybe tabla's and sitar and that base sitar thing, if forget what it's called. ok maybe not all those instruments being played at the same time on the same cuts either, but interesting and nonmundane combinations of them. actualy on most cuts only between three and five instruments would be playing at any one time, other then way in the background to fatten the mix on the studio versions. but this way, with this many, the show could probably go on for ever, with that many to draw from and take turns while the others were taking extended breaks, even long enough to sleep betweens their turns on stage. kitaro and yani would be in there somewhere, along with yattri, and a host of others. maybe even zappa back from the tao to play his bikalophone ... =^^= .../\...
I thought about that as well, but I went with Banks for his personal style rather than fluid percision
Klaus Schultze is a good option as well! I named Tony Carey because I like the keyboards on Rainbow's Rising so much. Ah well, I probably forgot some other brilliant musicians as well.. That's why we need him!
vocals:janis joplin-guitar;jimi hendrix-drums;john bonham-guitar2;jimmy page-bas;jaco pastorius-keyboards;ray manzarek. a dream band
