ok here's the scenario. I'm going to test out a couple plants in my closet. These first two are just gonna be for practice, then if this works out i'm going to grow more. I have read literature on growing and the type of light that works best for my situation would be a flourescent lamp because due to space restrictions and my mom, i can not put a fan in the closet to ventilate the area if i use a metal halide lamp. So my question, what wattage of flourescent light should i use? any input is appreciated.
You might be able to grow some nice looking plants but as far as buds go, you won't be able to under a fluoro.
hmmm thanks, i thought about that. Is there anything else i could use other than a metal halide? I don't want the closet to get too hot
Why not try 200W Envirolites. Check this site. http://www.theonlineelectricalwholesaler.com/catalog/products.php?cpath=88_254
O yea those are like those grow fluoros you see at the hydro shops... they probably work actually... wehen anyone says fluoro I was always think of those cool tube ones from home depot lol
haha cool, does anybody know how to convert the prices on that page to US dollars? I need to be within 30 bucks, so whatever i can get for that, otherwise i might have to start guerrilla growing
Sure you can yield from normal floro's. Not as much as sunlight or HPS. But, you can diffently yield.
If you've got a remote location nearby and don't mind getting your hands dirty, for sure consider growing outside under the free HID in the sky. However I should warn you it's not good for a young girl to be out in the woods alone. Not because of snakes/bears etc., but because of humans--guys (I'm sorry to say but it's true). Maybe you and a male friend could be partners and go in together. Either way, bring pepper spray and a cell phone. A dog is good too. I'm not trying to freak you out or anything. Growing outdoors in the best imo, but it's best to be aware of what's what.
If you go down to the woods today you're in for a big surprise. If you go down to the woods today, you'd better go in disguise. For every bear that ever there was Will gather there for certain because today's the day the teddy bear's have their picnic Picnic time for teddy bears; The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today. Watch them, catch them unawares, And see them picnic on their holiday. See them gladly gad about; They love to play and shout; They never have any cares. At six o'clock their mummies and daddies will take them home to bed, Because they're good little teddy bears.
haha well, i live right on these bluffs and there's lots of open land around (tall brush and a few scattered plots of greenery, so i could plant here with no danger, but the temperature in the summer gets up to 106-108 and it's super dry, i don't know if the plants would survive in this kind of weather. do you guys think the plants would survive outside if i planted them?
Sure, just keep 'em watered. Outdoor growing is superior to indoors, imo. You can grow MUCH BIGGER plants, get nice buds that can weigh as much as an ounce or more each. Typically I grow plants that may have as many as 1 lb. buds or more per plant. My record is just under 2 lbs. but I know people who've gotten as much as 3.5 pounds of bud off of 1 plant.
Not meaning to sond rude, just trying to keep everyones knowlege of electronics at a higher standard, but wattage isnt a word, its power.
well, wattage is a word and even if i didn't use it in the right way, everybody knew what i meant........ napalm, do you work at radio shack or something? anyways, thanks ranger, i'm definitely thinking about planting outdoors now. the sound of buds that weigh a up to 3.5 pounds is tempting. we get tons of sun so it would probably be good. and if they are found, nobody here will know whos plant it is anyways, so i'm going to get some more seeds today and plant them on monday. i do have one more question though, when planting outdoors i still need to buy some soil right?
