I live in a semi rural area. I love it even though the business district is a bit down the road. I used to live in a suburban neighborhood and I am glad to be in the wild. Where do you peeps live and do you like it?

    Hi Naoki:

I like your signiture. Princess Mononoki is one of my favorite movies of all time. Nice to talk with you again buddy. I remember our talks here.

Rural is best. I wish I was handy though, then I wouldn't rely on stores.

I currently live in a communal living situation...I love it...

And I when I leave here I want to live in a urban situation...preferably with really good public transportation.

We live in a very small town, less than 1000 people, I think. It's kind of nice. We can walk to the post office, the grocery store, the general store. Our house is pretty old and we have a pretty big yard for town, big enough to grow a few things and have a fire pit. We are looking for some rural property, though.

wait I want to recant my vote. I voted suburbs, but I read the (want to) part as I clicked. I way want to live in a rural area the only things I really like about cities and suburbs is organic hygiene products and good live music. If I could find a small town with that stuff, I'd probably fall in love with it. Alas I have been in the Chicago burbs most of my life, i lack ambition it's lame.

We live out in the sticks in what is nearly the poorest county in the state. But because our road is a "thru road" many people are using it for a short cut to town and that translates into lots of traffic. Been here 20+ years. The traffic has increased dramatically over that time. It's like living in rural suburbia... Rising gas prices plus more cars owned by more people makes this road very busy. I moved here when kids were in school and it made it easier to get them there every day. But now, we're tossing around the idea of getting this place in shipshape condition and SELLING it to get farther back in the woods, like THIS, only a few miles from here, is where I'd rather be...

Well, right now I live in a dorm in Bloomington. But my parents live in a rural area, so I enjoy it, but at the same time I would like to be a little closer to a town (but there's not much in those towns). Preferably, I would like to live maybe 20 minutes from a large city.

    Peace and love

I live in a rural area and love it. However, I live on a thru road as well and there are lots of new houses poping up. It looks like it's going to get crowded around here.

I live near you and monetarily speaking you'd do better to wait about 5 years to sell.

I endeavor to be car free in a couple years, so urban is what I'll need for a while yet.

That said, if the cash gods smiled upon us, and $$ was no object for the house and basic tools, it'd be a zero emissions vehicle in a mountain town, with a greenhouse and a few cold frames to grow the veggies.

I guess you'd say rural..I got houses all around me,but I'm still on the outskirts of a town with a total population of 490..hell,just over 18,000 in the entire county..hardly no regulations, which could be considered good or bad I guess.I must say I love it tho,all except for that one asshole neighbor, but I guess thats anywhere you go

I live in what was once a rural area but is now essentially a parking lot for the endless influx of New Yorkers moving out of their shitty area in order to turn our farmland and woods into housing developments and wal marts.

My particular place is now a townhouse at the edge of a apartment complex, most of which resembles a demilitarized zone. We live between a typical white-trash Jerry Springer-esque family on one side and a puerto rican family on the other who seem to think that between the hours of 11pm and 4am it is their civic duty to play the same minute and a half long shitty techno song on an endless loop at about the loudest volume modern technology allows.

I used to live in a kind of semi-rural area, just outside a town with about 5000+ people in it, and lots of nice surrounding villages around it. Including all the surrounding areas and smaller towns there is a total population of 23,644.
The town itself was a bit of a shit-hole though.

Now I live in a suburb of Liverpool, quite a nice city but overall I prefer my old town. Probaly more to do here for someone of my age though. The town had a 'drugs problem' apparently, but I left when I was 12, so wasnt involved in it there. My older sister on the other hand.....
