Working in a tattoo studio, i see alot people getting the same stuff, alot of stuff gets over done... so i'll give you examples of what is requested alot in the shop i work..
Celtic knots I actually really like the one of the feather with birds, I haven't seen that but I've seen plenty of feathers I know someone that got the infinity symbol with their wedding anniversary date in it instead of the word love
When I worked at a tattoo shop, it was a custom one and they didnt copy things from the internet etc, but loads of people would want stars or little hearts (just the outline) and the most common place was on their necks or wrists.
Nothing Says "Don't Hire Me" Like A Tat On The Neck That Cannot Be Hidden Behind A Shirt Collar... Cheers Glen.
Depends what profession you are trying to get in to. The more formal the job where you will be meeting clients and stuff will likely require a higher standard of personal presentation compared to the more hands on and practical jobs such as plumbing, electrics, general labour etc. Also depends on the company. Wickes - a garden/diy supply centre will let anybody work regardless of tattoos, piercings, hair but some others won't. I also think it varies from country to country. I have never had trouble with my tattoos in the UK, but it doesn't seem as flexible in the US. Britain is the worlds most tattooed nation, so I suppose that plays a part.
to be completely detailed about this...the butterlfy on the shoulder and the rose on the ankle or vice versa....yuck. everyone and their grandmother has a tat these days, literally, I saw an old lady with a saggy butterfly boob tat the other day. I remember when I got my first I was 16 so almost 20 years ago, it was so "taboo", everyone was amazed, now even my dorky sister has one....a butterlfy of course. how original. It is refreshing to see cool ones every now and then though
tattoos of looney toons characters. i can't tell you how many "Taz" tattoos i've seen on flabby biceps of middle aged men. how about tweety bird for the ladies?
all tattoos are overrated and overused. I remember when two types of people got tattoos. cool people and really badasses. now any fucking nerd gets a tattoo.
