I don't even consider them news stations. Some people think one is better than the other.---I think both stations are equally bad in different ways.CNN+Fox are both worthless, and I never view them anymore.I find the BBC with all it's faults far superior. What are your opinions and views?
I agree that Fox is strictly propaganda, however CNN in their own way is also alot of propaganda, misinformation and shit-stirring.Not to mention total incompetence in the way they present their version of the so-called 'news'.--With Fox at least a good amount of people know it is propaganda, however alot of people still think CNN is reputable, when it is not.--It would be great if these stations were taken off the air.It is disturbing that the US once known for having good , reliable media and news coverage now puts out some of the worst media in the world.
I don't think CNN is as much propaganda as shit-stirring - but incompetence is definitely the strongest word to describe them with.
Well Fox is just the media arm of the republican party."Fair and balanced".They ought to be ahamed to keep saying that.
I'm getting a little bit of a feel for CNN (they broadcast in the UK now - no satelite required)...as far as I can see, I like it. I hear about Fox...not spent enought time acclimatising myself with them. They seem to be mocked by the left - I'm not sure fairly or unfairly. From what I have seen I like Fox for it's bullishness. In comparison the BBC is boring as hell - no opinions. I've never appreciated why people think the BBC news is so good. Not sure how different they are to others. They still create a picture they want you to see. http://www.biased-bbc.blogspot.com/ To be honest, I would not accept any news as the full news...so comparing them is pointless...as I will look at them all, for their own merits, and not for my complete news diet. It would be good if somebody had compared the spin within a few particular stories from: CNN - BBC - Fox...to see if they were demonstrably different.
If you are looking at them for their own merits - then isn't comparing them the next logical step? Let's use apples and oranges for example, as the saying goes. "This one is sweet, crisp, with a little tart and juiciness to it" "This one is both sour and sweet and really juicy" You have two clear images of them, next is to identify what you prefer. Even if you are not choosing one as your whole diet - merely for, which one you want to incorporate more rigorously into your diet.
Thats what I like about the BBC-"no opinions",it may be boring but that how news should be broadcast. That's how news 'used' to be broadcast in the US,for the most part.---Of course this was years ago,but no matter which network you viewed(ABC,CBS,NBC),you basically got the same story reported, because for the most part it was factual, with-out much bias.--News main function is to keep things, people etc. honest, and just report the facts.--Nowadays if CNN says white,Fox will say black etc. I don't want or care for the opinions of the people who work for CNN/Fox etc.---As far as BBC being so good,it's more of a case of the likes of CNN/Fox and the rest of contemporary US media being so bad.So now the BBC is the only game in town.
CNN now being broadcast in England with no satellite, that's reason enough for England to break diplomatic relations with the US.LOL
Imo, no. I take a slither from them all. Perhaps a clearer image will be found by reading/watching them all because they all ommit or include various aspects of a story. I kinda treat them as one homgenous mass of news. I'd only compare them to see if the rumours about them hold much water (especially FOX CNN etc). I have no real choice but to choose between the BBC/ITN (http://itn.co.uk/index.html - Based in the UK, and providing news programming for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5), and Sky News, as my main input for news...those are the profiders for the terrestrial TV here. That is all that is available to me with out looking on the internet. Most people still get most of their news from the TV, I imagine. So, I can gauge the pros and cons of these...I guess. There really isn't a hell of a lot of difference though, to be honest. It boils down to emphasis and tone...not really content. One may pander to the left a little bit more than others, not much though. Not like American News...wich seems to swing heavily one way or the other.
Give it a few months.lol--As far as examples one would really have to view it,and you'll quickly notice. BTW,I understand what you mean when you like opinions,I do too,as long as it's not disguised as news. There has always been seperate tv shows that were basically peoples opinions, the difference being they were NOT labeled news shows years ago.--
Lol, ok. The bad thing is they only broadcast a few hours a day and I believe what they consider the cream of their output. It makes a change from the usual, anyway. There is a big blur between facts and opinion, I guess. Even the BBC hide an opinion through "political analysis" via their "political editor".
Both stations are equally bad. Most people on this site are going to side with CNN, at least as far as possible, because they represent the 'left' side of the paradigm. They're all shit-stirrers, and they're all propagandists. I love it when people call FOX unbalanced and then praise CNN: it's no more balanced, it's just slanted in a direction they happen to favour. Most people are incapable of making a distinction.
Kinda a no brainer when the GOP is now nothing but a cult of crazies with Faux news as it's main vocal instrument..EVERY station besides fox news has a liberal slant, and I'll sleep better with that in mind..Though SERIOUSLY,Rational republicans exist...lol I can't imagine Fox new's being the ONLY conservative news outlet existing 10 years from now..They're really only getting worse and worse.
Both bullshit propaganda. Fox isn't as dangerous though because I don't think people take Fox seriously anymore. You gotta be a 'tard to believe anything broadcast on Fox...whereas people think they're "intelligent" when they watch CNN.
The women on Fox are great but i just cant put up with the fake readings of the teleprompter and how scripted everything is. Fuck i just wanna torch everything. I like some of the Cnn shows and Cooper Anderson if hes still on that show used to be a hero of mine. Larry King is a G. All hail the Alphas of the world.
