1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

    in my book?

It's a man who kills himself then tells us about what happens after death.

So pick something that suits the situation :D

why not go to a baby name site and look some interesting ones up. i think it depend on who the character it. for example, jimmy probably never got made fun of for his name.
also, if it is from a 'normal, everyday' persons perspective, then the char. should have a normal everyday sort of name.
what program do you use? i found a free online one for book/story writing called ywriter. its supposed to help you organize, and break stories up into scenes, and then you can rearrange the scenes.

I'm gonna say either "Boris"- after Boris Karloff who played the monster in "Frankenstein"

or "George"- As in Geroge A Romero who wrote "night of the living dead"

It's got to be symbolic. This isn't the greatest of names but an example would be something like Mori. It's both a guys name and a girls name, and it can reference the idea of the momento mori, or the dance of the dead.

    It's cryptic for death, basically.

Other ideas, if it's got any other religious undertones, Christian perhaps, or Hayden (hades).

Personally I think Thane, which is quite an unusual and modern sounding name, is kind of cool. It is shortened from the name Thanatos (meaning, simply, Death).

Good luck, anyways dude. But I will reiterate, books have themes and plenty of symbolism, so I hope i've at least got the creative juices flowing.
