The President and Vice-President shall be elected based on the popular vote of all states and the District of Columbia combined.

Well, there's not much wrong with the old constitution, except that a whole lot of our freedoms and rights that are contained in it are pretty much ignored. One thing that should be done, however, is to amend the current constitution to abolish the electoral college.

Yea, that should be included in the Bill of Rights, for sure

Also, maybe we should add Puerto Rico to that list?

The constitution should still have pretty strict laws regarding search and seizure too - warrants and probable cause required.

Well, if we include Puerto Rico, then we also have to include the US Virgin Islands and whatever other territories we have -- Guam?

I'm just curious, why the big stick up your ass constantly about America?
Why don't you address issues in your own country?>

Nothing should be changed, the constitution just needs to be reinforced. I think the founding fathers did a good job creating the constitution. Of course some things may be added, but i don't think anything should be takin out.

Although one thing that should be added is. No federal reserve notes of any kind. No debt based dollar system should exist in the country. This should not even be a question.

All votes should be done on a hardcopy of some kind. Keep away from any technology. You don't want to count 300million votes? I say to bad, because currently we don't need to count anything and now we have no say in anything.

Every vote must be couted for.

Compensation for the services of the Representatives and Senators shall be proportional to the median individual income in their respective states as determined by the Census.

(The idea here is that they should not be able to raise their pay unless the average person has gotten wealthier.)

The District of Columbia is already counted, and it also has 3 electoral votes, according to an amendment that was passed back in the '60's, I think

Yes, you're right, but here I'm making clear that it is the popular vote.

That should already be included under the freedom of speech (freedom of expression) clause of the Bill of Rights.

One thing that should be included for sure in a new or amended constitution is to restrict the Supreme Court to determining cases of appeals, and forbidding it from ruling on the 'constitutionality' of laws, or ordering democratically passed laws to not be enforced (or vice versa). These are things that the court is doing now, which the constitution nor any law ever authorized

Yeah, but there is still so much censorship. Maybe this would get rid of it.

Yea, Ron Paul has said that if he's elected president, that he wouldn't take a salary that's higher than the median income (I think he said it's about $39,000 now.) That would keep these bastards from getting too comfortable while the rest of us are struggling to make it-maybe they'd empathize with the common person more if their salary wasn't so high

Religion and/or any aspect of it is 100% out of the government. Complete separation of church and state, not this pretend shyt we are pulling right now...

If a government official or candidate tries to push religion in any form they are out of the government... NOW!

If a religious organization tells it's members how to vote, TAX THEM!

One thing you've said that I agree on is basically this point-if these 'non-profit' religious networks endorse candidates and give them what is basically free advertising, they should be taxed.

Money completely out of elections. Make it law that commercial stations have to provide free air time in certain time slots and certain times--say one month(?) before elections between 6 and 8 pm 3 times a week for politicians to debate and/or disclose their intentions/ideas. Voting to be mandatory, open to US citizens only and will be done by write-in ballots thru US mail.
Candidates cannot mention other candidates at any time including debates, printed media, visual media,or audio media. Doing so means immediate disqualification.Candidates can only propose their own ideas regarding any and all topics.
Congress shall decide, not the president, whether ANY US military action is in the compelling interest and is constitutionally permissable , anywhere in the world under any circumstances for american military forces to be deployed for any reason.
A single pay medical system will be instituted for all citizens ,to be modeled after other successful systems as in France,Germany, ect.(medical insurance companies-gone.)
Locations will be provided, such as closed military installations in at least 4 areas of the US where any and all schedule 1 drugs will be provided free of cost and will be restricted to those areas exclusively by law. Rehab to be available on site. MJ,mushrooms and lysergic acid will be removed from S1 list and any substance used in any religious practice, such as peyote, will not be included on ANY list of banned substances.

Rush Limbaugh to be confined without clothing to stocks in a public place so resonable citizens can whack him on his posterior with dead fish and road kill. (hmm-maybe not constitutional, but desirable)
