Im planning to start my 1st grow very soon with a hydroponics kit and was thinking of growing bubbblegum or blueberry, but they are quite expensive seeds should i start off with something else and if so any idea wat strains might be good?
Forget blueberry for your first grow, it's not the easiest plant to grow, and the yield sucks honestly. Nirvana seeds have a bubblegum knockoff that's priced pretty nicely. Also check out mandala seeds, a few posters in these forums have mandala grows and they all look nice. If you want to grow some premium seeds then check out AK 47from serious seeds, it's a great strain for a first timer and always turns out top notch. Good luck :spliff:
for a first grow i reccomend going with the cheapest thing you can find. it's your first time and there are sure to be 'bugs' to be worked out yet. better to experiment with something that costs little or nothing, if you can find them.
Thanks for that lune i think im gonna go with the AK47 is there anywhere i can get these seeds feminized i cant seem to find them.
I don't think serious sells a fem version of any of their strains, the regular version is just fine though, I've always gotten mostly females from their seeds. Dr. chronic has ak in stock I'm pretty sure, he says no shipping to the US, but Ive read on icmag that it's just a *wink wink* type situation, I'm gonna place an order with him next week hopefully when I get enough money and I'm sure itll come through just fine. edit: By the way, if you're gonna spend that kind of money on seeds then make sure that every other part of your grow will be ok, dont get cheap with equipment and what not. Like zenloki said youre going to have a lot of bugs to work out until you know what your doing 100%.
The equipment im gettin is the Greenroom 600 Watt deluxe kit (£1195) from Esoteric Hydroponics so the seed value isn't to much damage just want to make sure i can walk before i run (picking right seeds for 1st time). Do you know anything about what its like to grow bubblegum? Thanks for all the help lune it is appreciated.
No problem man, don't mind helping at all. I've only grown the ak, not the bubblegum. All of serious' strains are great though so ya can't really go wrong with any of them.
Lune when you grew the AK what lights were you using? How long did it take roughley from seed to harvest and how much bud did you get per plant dried? Sandbar heard alot of bad things about greenhouse so i'll give that a miss cheers anyway.
Grew and flowered with a 400w mh, it took maybe 4-5 months total, and I don't really know how much I got, maybe 6-8 ozs, I don't have a scale anymore (no need). Yield depends on a lot of things, it's hard to estimate how much you're going to get until you try.
