I'm sick of the "we should legalize pot" "pot is good" Pot is better than alcohol" We know this, But what really needs to happen to get a law changed? I tell you whats not going to do it, posting random threads on the internet and writing a handful of letters to our congressmen. Now don't get me wrong those of you doing that are at least TRYING.... But I feel our energy needs to be directed in a more formal matter.
We know laws can be change and legal substances turned illegal have been turned back legal. Yes our friend Alcohol, or at least a friend in the way that it has bounced back to legal from the depths of illegal. How did this happen, how did this exactly happen, can we learn from this? Did America all get together and vote? I dont think thats the way happend. Was this a time when our congress & house listed to the people and not the dollar?
We also got to factor in America today isn't what America was back in the 20's and 30's and how does that direct our leagalizing intentions differently... So many questions and not enough leadership in the cause. Notice I didnt say fight. Fighting people is not the answer, persuading people is...

What are some real concrete ways the people, citizens of America can leagalize Marijuana. What Steps in what order need to be followed. This is the Question to ask.

lol, if by "citizens of america" you implied "the richest of the rich citizens of america" all you have to do is point at that huge bulge in your pocket and be like "that's my wallet.... now leeeegaliiiize it- no no, don't criticiiiiiiize it" Or, if you were filthy rich you could just call up your buddies in the senate and offer them some incentive.... Sorry but I am really hopeless for America in all sorts of aspects, especially for the people in America who aren't filthy fucking rich, or who went to college with people who are in the senate or judges etc..

You can't give up hope, though. Blacks did not give up hope. Women did not give up hope. They got, for the most part, what they wanted. There is always hope, whether you can see it or not. If you truly believe in something, you must fight all you can for it. Never lay down. Never back down. Forward always.

This is true, the spirit of the freedom fighter must live on in somebody. Mine has been broken by these hooligans though. I'm just being a good guy riding my proba out then either leaving the country which is what i REALLY want to do, or living away from the city.

Everytime you smoke you are helping the cause. Deffiance alone of there policy will force them to realize that the policy does not work. Or some of us young stoners should become politicians.

lol, the only cause you help by smoking is the cause of getting yourself high. If I wanted to be a piece of fake power hungry piece of feces then I might become a politician. Until then I'll remain a real person.

If we want to have politicians on our side, then we are gonna have to be politicians. Yes, it will take some time, but it will help bring on decrim/legalization a lot sooner. Smoking weed is like your own little protest. Politicians weren't always greedy, constituent-ignoring, power/money hungry *insert your own words here*, it used to be something of respect. We have to hold our own in this world, and push forward wherever we can, as much as we can. A great man once said, "The power....is YOURS!"

Actualy I would take the argument down a scale, and not say we need to be politicians, but we need to be a succesfull part of the system we live in.

It should be a combination of both. We need some politicians to actually be on our side, so they can get shit done in the legal system, and the rest of us need to get our shit together and prove that we can be successful in society.

You need to organize people. norml.org might have a local chapter for you. Also you could draft information and talk to people in front of your local DMV.

What needs to be done is mass protests. Many lawmakers respond when people hold mass protest and threaten not to have that polititan voted back into office.

that's alot of people though. sure, many people smoke pot in our country, but would they be willing to go protest for it rather than just sneak around the laws?
