I actually just talked about this in the hippy name thread. :)

My daughters name is Julia Cailyn. We chose it first because of it's meaning. Julia means youthful and Cailyn means pure. I loved the idea of my little girls name meaning youthful and pure... We also chose Julia because of the Beatles song. We are both Beatles fans and the lyrics to this song are just beautiful...

HALF OF WHAT I SAY IS MEANINGLESS
BUT I SAY IT JUST TO REACH YOU, JULIA

    JULIA, JULIA, OCEANCHILD, CALLS ME
SO I SING A SONG OF LOVE, JULIA
JULIA, SEASHELL EYES, WINDY SMILE, CALLS ME
SO I SING A SONG OF LOVE, JULIA

HER HAIR OF FLOATING SKY IS SHIMMERING, GLIMMERING,
    IN THE SUN

JULIA, JULIA, MORNING MOON, TOUCH ME
SO I SING A SONG OF LOVE, JULIA

WHEN I CANNOT SING MY HEART
I CAN ONLY SPEAK MY MIND, JULIA

JULIA, SLEEPING SAND, SILENT CLOUD, TOUCH ME
SO I SING A SONG OF LOVE, JULIA
HUM HUM HUM HUM... CALLS ME
SO I SING A SONG OF LOVE FOR JULIA, JULIA, JULIA

My son's name is Evan Elijah. Not for it's meaning or anything, I just loved both of those names...

We want to have one more and if it's a girl I want to name her Emmalyn Grace, calling her Emma. Emmalyn just because I think it's beautiful and Grace after my Great Grandmother. She was one of the few people who treated my mother well as a child and I would love to honor her for that.

If we have another boy I have no idea what it will be....

Well my oldest is Rosemarie Sarah. She is my step-daughter and not really sure why she was named Rose. But Sarah is after my husbands mother. My second is Liliana Jeannette. My husband named her because he wanted to keep the flower theam. Jeannette is my middle name as well as my mothers. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant. If it's a boy it will be Ashton Wencil Luther. Ashton to stick with the nature theam (ash is a tree) Wencil is my husbands grandfather, and Luther is my fathers middle name. If it's a girl It will be Irismai. Not sure of the middle name. But Iris to stick with the flowers.

Named our boy Levi...because we were at 8 months and it was the one name we could come up with that didn't rhyme with an obcenity, bodily function, or a slang term for male/female genitalia

Philip Tony..Long story but changed the name at last minute when it was time to fill out birth certificate, so Dad didn't know until we were discharged.
Amanda Lee Annie..Her dad picked the first name yrs ago. Brother Philip picked the second middle name from the movie "Annie"
    Kevin Tyler..just sounded nice

I love the name Julia. If we had an other girl her name would be either Micah or Julianna.

    My kids

Sunshine (girl 18 years) Why? We were young hippies and Sunshine seemed good. She also lit up our lives. What a rush to have a first baby!!!!

Moonbeam (girl age 16)(called Moon) She was a full moon baby. It "matched" Sunshine, but, as their names, they are as different as night and day.

Lennon (boy age 13) For John. John was too common. My FIL thinks the child was named for him, as his name is Len. Oh well, let him think that.

Sage (girl age 5) it means wise. She was such and OLD SOUL as a baby. Nothing surprised her, as if she knew what was happening.

My kids have "normal" Biblical based middle names, if they want to use these.

My 5 year old son is named Kylan Alexander. Why? We just liked the name, and Alexander stands for "great" and "man's defender".

My 19 month old twins, a son and a daughter, are named Sylas Arric and Mayzie Amorette. Why? Again, we just liked the names, but we did use the Irish middle name Arric for our son as a tribute to my husband's little brother, who's first name is Eric, but we pronounce our son's middle name as "R"-ic. It also stands for "ruler of men". We used the middle named Amorrette for our daughter as it means "little love" in French.

We just wanted unique names, names that you don't hear everyday. ;)

    Hugs...

Ryvre Raine: we liked the names River and Rain, and the meanings behind them, however, i thought it looked too "watery" written out, so we changed the spellings.

Willow Sage: tree prophet. My interpretation of a dream i had about her while i was pregnant.

The older they get, the more their names seem to fit them, and the more meaning i see.

I have no idea what I would name my child(ren) if I had them. I feel that it isn't mine to deside unless I knew the mother's opinion and had her input on what names she likes and I'll go from there. :D :p That's just me, though. For some reason, haha, I love the name Lennon... not only because of John, but it has a quite beautiful ring to it. It's somewhat formal and different at the same time. :) I like awkward and odd names... haha, not awkward in a bad way, though... just different, you know what I mean, lol.

I just had to drop by here because it just gives me such a warm feeling in my heart. :)

I have names picked out for when I have kids... and they all have lots of meaning behind them. But, I know that it'll change when I meet the right guy, and do end up having kids one day. Because.. the names of children have to be a mutual decision.. ya know?
Soooo. here are the names I am in love with.
    Bright Peter
    Lennox Edward
    Evan Leon
    Evangeline Ann
    Avery Zofia
    Haleigh (pronounced hah-lay) Olga

I don't have kids yet, but I have some names set aside... lol but I'm not telling my boyfriend, he'd probably go into some sort of panic attack ;)

    Girls: Rowan, Emma, Fayth...
I love those names. Rowan because of the symbolism (it's a celtic superstition... place rowan branches above your door and keep the bad faeries out), Emma because I think it's a beautiful name, and Fayth because I think it's important to have - note I'm not talking about RELIGION, I'm talking about faith. Two different things.

    Boys: Simon, Aiden, Jakob, Joshua....
Simon because it's a name I love, and every Simon I've ever met has been sooo cute and sweet. Aiden after Aiden on Sex & The City (I love you John Corbett) and I used to have a camper named Aiden who was the most sweet and cute kid alive. Jakob is a strong sounding name, but it's gotta be with a K not a C. Joshua is also a name I just love, and also the name of a kid I used to have at camp who was a delight to have and made everyday just a big ball of sunshine :)

Now watch, a few years from now I'll have a couple kids and these probably won't be their names rofl I guess you gotta compromise!

    They aren't human children, but.....
    Branwen Felicity
Branwen means fair raven (ie dark beauty) which seems an accurate description of her. It's also after the Welsh godess of love, and I'm a sucker of Welsh and mythological names.
She was orginally called Lucky, Felicity just means the same thing, but isn't so lame.

    Casey Jack
Casey after Casey Affleck (one of my fave actors). It means brave and he is fearless.
Jack was originally for Jack Kerouac, but now jumping jack flash seems more appropriate.

My current favourite names for future children are....
River Taliesin Jude: After River Phoenix, Taliesin is just a gorgeous name after a bard and the son of Cerridwen (neat little theme there) and Hey Jude.
Willow Rhiannon Sky: I just love the association of willows, Rhiannon after the goddess and song, Sky because it is such a beautiful thing.
Lennon Raphael Thomas: after John. Raphael for the angel and painter. Thomas is my brother's middle name.
Gaea Hazel Tatiana: Gaea for the goddess and literally the earth, Hazel for the same reasons as Willow, Tatiana was a Russian princess.

A word about my own name.... Sage Cerridwen Phoenix Harper

Sage just because I instincitvly felt it should be my name, the more I think about the more right it feels.
I picked out Cerridwen initially because my original middle name began C and it was cool. Now I've studied paganism she has become one of my favourite goddesses. I'm also partly Welsh, so it makes sense.
There are two explanations behind Phoenix, deep and meanigful or kind of lame....
Deep is that I was working through some emotional stuff and felt reborn. Lame is that I have a borderline insane crush on Joaquin Phoenix, go figure.
Harper is just after Harper Lee, made sense for a writer to name themself after a favourite author.

With a fifthteen year age gap between our oldest and youngest child, the name

Hamish Alexander Luke Turner seemed so appropriate for the last one - we just knew we'd have to call it a H.A.L.T.

I just have to get in on this fun. When I do have kids, here are the names...

    Boys
    1. George Randal- As in Harrison, and my dad is Randal.
    2. Mark Twain- He may resent this later, but he was such a genius.

    Girls
    1. Kelly Green- As in the color :)
    2. Marka Paloma- Sort of an oxymoron here as it means "warlike dove", but it's a nice balance.
