Kinda depends on how far I want to go...I really like walking, but can't walk across the country (unfortunately!!) Probably a car would come in second, but I also really like airplanes...just slightly paranoid about using them these days...

Good to see you back, Union!

the mode of transportation does not matter as much as the fact that I am moving in a forward motion

Sure you could! A handful of people have walked across the country, one of them wrote a book, Peter Jenkins, it's really amazing, I'd love to read it again!

How about my van? I took two long road trips this summer, and slept in my van mostly (mattress in it and all the comforts of home). Loved it lots. Hate air travel these days, but for long distances there's not much choice. Would love to travel by train again, as I did in 1980, from Memphis to New Orleans, for Mardi Gras. Now that was a trip. I don't know what trains are like these days though.

Walking barefoot or riding a bike. Walking is not always the most practical for distance and time, but it's still my favorite. A bike is a great thing. It's fast, silent, non-polluting, reliable, and cheap.

I'll definitely ride my bike a lot now that it's cooled off. The tires would've melted right off if I rode in the summer!

Enjoyed my many trips in the olde VW Buses. Being partially handicapped and living in the pristene nowhere car is the main mode. Airplanes are a last result; beyond the increased safety (?) procedures, moving about in huge terminals via cane and/or wheelchair can be too much of an adventure! jnanajohn

Car certainly! Then, I can stop and smell the flowers occasionally!

Maybe take a walk in the forest if there's one there...
    Life's too short NOT to.

Walking is my favorite...helped me lose over 100 lbs.
I love early morning walks now with Jackeddy, my dog.

We saw deer day before yesterday on the road in front of us.

Saw a deer in my yard this morning, I think it was sleeping where my land slopes down to the runoff (its dry in there right now) and when we went out the door it got startled and ran up the hill right next to us.

But we see alot of things on our walk...Duke and Ed..neighbors dogs.
Heathcliff...neighbors weird looking duck that sits on top of their mailbox most of the time.
    Casper....horse down the road.

    alot of wildlife, mostly bunnies.

    My bike is cool too.

And for anything over a few miles...our old truck.

even tho I do like to walk I voted for bus. Easier to go cross country on the bus, meet lots of interesting people and I don't have to worry about falling asleep at the wheel, don't need to fix flat tires or find a gas station or getting lost.
