What is Truth?

Can there be different kinds of it? Or is there just one Absolute?

 

the only thing absolut in this world is a vodka
for a liar to lie, that is truth
for a bullshitter to b.s., that is truth

 

Truth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

 

Truth is truth, it doesn't change unless circumstances do. There is such a thing as absolute truth, where circumstances have nothing to do with it. Opinions are opinions, not the same thing at all.

 

How can you tell the difference between an opinion and a truth if they are different with each beholder?

 

Please consider that, an opinion, can be conceived and expressed in a few second;with absolutely no need or regard for the truth.

But the truth, even in its simplest form, often takes a life time to learn, with some never learning its value; witness the Molly thread.

 

Please don't drag molly in to this already, jeesus Rob we're not even off the first page.


SO what about those flashes of insights we get? How do we know what is insight and what is a conditioned thought, or someonelses emotional imprint reacting with our own visual cortex...or planetary gravity for that matter, *big breath* when we base our truths off things we think or observe?

 

we ask if it is true for all times and places... as most things are not, therefore truth is individual and relative

and so the hippy maxim "to each their own"

 

truth is on the inside, opinion is on the outside... although perspective on truth will vary which may enter the realm of what is opinion

 

Man, truth is like a slippery fish that just wants to get back in the water.

 

Then I needn't waste my time any further, because your questions should be addressed more toward reality, than the truth.

Listening and learning is what the young do best. It's how we get to the more advanced years and develop our own brand of wisdom (with alot of trial and error on the side)

When I was little my mom would ask me when other people called me a name, "Well are you?" and I would reply through tears....'No.' and then she would hug me and tell me it does'nt really matter then.
You are just Rob or Rob with his imaginary friend, it makes no difference what I or other people think. You are not running for office, we have no impact on how you provide for yourself and those who depend on you...it does'nt really matter what we think, except in your own mind.

In knowing what Truth is, we also know that there is always some aspect of Truth that we are unaware of at all times.

Being humble is also a very important skill that seems difficult to master at all ages.


If Skip or a moderator is bored enough and can confirm what you say Rob then I will appolagise for the mix up and any added stress incurred as you tried to find a potent enough response. My filters may be clouding my judgment, it happens.
You may be full of crap...that happens too.
Either way...it's not that big of a deal unless you make it into one.

I don't know there have been things I thought were true but wer'nt, or were for a while but are like a Monarch being both a caterpillar and a winged thing, our perspective of it being different depending on when we viewed it.
The truth of the Monarch remaining the same and not, because the whole of it constantly evolves, thereby also evolving any Truth...yes?


A moderator told me the IP addies were different but I still have a feeling rob is rainbow rob. What's to stop him from going to the library and making a new alias just for kicks you know?
