What is the best rpg game ever?????

hey im a big rpg fan and i want to know what are the BEST rpg's ever? i got a ps2 so my options are limited. i know of all the classics so please no FF games. please list all TURN BASED rpg games, not anything else.

here are some my bf plays he loves rpgs
dragon quest viii journey of the cursed king
legend of dragoon
breath of fire 3 and 4
xenosaga1 -3
onimusha this has rpg aspects

that is all the playstation 1 and 2 games i could find that was not Final Fantasy he has a lot of those .
there is also Dungons and Dragons 3.5 which we play , and D20 Modern these r games that are not console games but were u draw / role up a character . wizardsofthecoast.com i think and u can also look up giantitp.com to see what d and d is about .

Did you really limit this poll to two horrible Final Fantasy games and a Romancing Saga game where if you can play for longer than a full minute without slashing your own kneecaps, you can claim victory?

 

Wait, what? Why are we limiting this to turn based RPG games? With that statement, you have just eliminated the entire Tales series from this thread, which is kind of a counter-productive thing to do when trying to determine the "best rpg game ever".
Also, you aren't that limited by owning a ps2. That system was a haven for RPGs.

 

My personal favorites are Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy VI. My friend swears Secret of Mana is the best, so I'll have to try that one out!

 

gotta go with ff10. I played it three times now, and It never ceases to entertain.

 

I know this game doesn't exactly fit the criteria , but I believe The Elder Scrolls IV: Morrowind is the best RPG of all time.
