What is it about the Grateful Dead?

Why in the world do I like them so damn much? I just put it on to hear Ripple, and then one of my favorites(Brokedown Palace came on) now 'Till The Morning Comes is on and I know I can't go to bed without hearing the whole damn album! Why do they have to sound so good?

All they cared about was the music. Not fame or fortune just doing the music their way.

 

I wish I were high, nope I just stayed up all night and am to lazy to go to bed so I'm blasting Dancin' In The Streets.

That must be one of the reasons, I imagine it must have rocked to play what you want without caring what anybody else thought but having everyones support.

Grateful Dead are very free with their music, something strikes out as just . . . real, with them. Like the opposite of pop music.

i loove the grateful dead.

they speak to me when i hear their music. and theres nothing better than a grateful dead jam. when you hear them on the radio, you can't help but turn it up and sing along.
