What is darvocet?

Sorry, I know this is the wrong forum but noone on the health forum answered my question. I know it's a pain killer. My doc prescribed it for a soar throat... kinda odd, but I'm not complaining. Anyways, how does it make you feel? I've never taken a pain medicine before (except for over-the-counter stuff). Also is there risks if I drink or smoke?

Drinking perhaps. It's a depressant, as is alcohol. There shouldn't be any issues with smoking. Althought when you eat i've been told that these opiate painkillers can make you nauseous so perhaps you would throw up from smoking but nothing serious.

It's so weak you can do as if you took aspirin. Even codeine (found in cough syrup and mild painkillers) is a lot stronger. Unless you want to get very very drunk, no problem with anything.

I don't see the mg posted anywhere... all I can tell you is that it's Darvocet N-100. (maybe that means 100 mgs???) Well I was also prescribed prometh with codeine... I really think this doc went a little overboard on meds, especially for a cold.

That shit is weak, if you wanna get high off of em try sniffing like 3 of em and then having a couple beers/shots. Its probably not the safest thing for you but its an alright feeling.

idiot, I'm not trying to get high off of it. I just wanted to know if pain meds caused a problem with smoking. Do other people out there really snort pain killers?? That is completely new to me...

Yeah, the doc pretty much threw them at me. It's funny, cuz I never got them when I had mono and I couldn't eat for two days because of the pain. Maybe it would've had a side effect
