Hi everyone.. not as simple as it seems when you think about it.. people always try to deny God's existence as a starting point, try to find proofs to believe that He does not exist... let's do it the other way... let's say God exists, make this belief our starting point, and then try to deny it with proof! Can you prove that God does not exist?! Let's try to imagine what would it be like (everything as we know it) if God does not exist! Just one more thing.. please do not say.. yes, for one I can't see Him.. He then, does not exist. alright.. you have a mind, sure!.. do you see it (your mind)?!! ...
I can marshall a lot of evidence against God's existence. Childhood cancer Famine War Natural disasters killing innocents Dictators Unfairness and lack of social equity and justice Violence against the undeserving, especially women Religious intolerance and chauvinism Religious excesses, from Aztec sacrificial killings to the Inquisition to the present-day clergy living in opulence while their congregations starve Contradictions in so-called religious texts Intolerance of those who are different, whether by way of skin colour, gender or sexual orientation Religious wars Suppression of women by churches. That's just for starters
These actually are proofs that God exists! Yes, this is not meant to be perfect. you will keep seeing all these things happen as long as you live. God created the world, created us, sent us messengers to guide us to how to treat each other, and how to worship Him. Some obeyed, some did not, but every human is given a lifetime chance, one lifetime chance, act no judgment, no punishment, be good, be bad, suffer, be rich, you are responsible. oppressed, have patience, believe in God, you can act about do it, the responsibility of treating people well, and believing in God still lies on your shoulder. only when the chance (life time) is over you will come to final judgment, perfect life, or pure hell!
I'd be more worried if he did exist to be honest.. i'm definitely off the hook on a couple rings of hell if it's all bullshit
the only thing God does not forgive, is worshiping another with him. (He is only one, You can't make Him two). other than that, He is merciful enough to forgive anything you did, NO MATTER WHAT! He does what He wants. Just ask Him to forgive you, honestly try to be good, that's all what it takes!
Excellent. So Hitler is in heaven? Stalin? Pol Pot? Kim Jong Il? Jack the Ripper? Sounds like the place called "hell" to me.
Who does evil? Creatures who are made by God. Why don't they get punished by Him? Lifetime chance, to believe and be good. If wasn't like this there will be no responsibility, no choice, everyone got a choice.. one divine punishment, and no witness shall make a mistake, while our nature is to make them in a life that is already not perfect, is that how you want it.. it has to be the way it is.. you make mistakes, and you ask God for forgiveness (part of worshiping Him), feel life is unfair to you, you be patient, pray, and accept where God put you in the world. When the chance is over it will all come back to you.. you will be rewarded what you advanced your lifetime chance. Perfect life... or you know !
Well, for starters OP, you need to understand the idea of the philosophical burden of proof- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophic_burden_of_proof - kindly read carefully so you understand the initial fundamental flaw in your first post. Beyond that, I want to ask about your intentions. Can you just keep fucking up and be forgiven? Do you even truly, deeply honestly care? "I'm sorry" doesn't make it better- sometimes the sorry is better left unsaid, in place of actual hard work to change. You speak of reward- for yourself? That seems selfish on the surface, so please clarify. Do you only seek your own rewards? Do you have any regard for those around you beyond them being a tool for you to get what you want? God. Who is he? What does he look like? What is he, really? Please explain how there is a single, separate identifiable being. If you're going to try to start using logic on us, please actually be logical. Also, avoid using vague terms you may have heard in church and be genuine- don't just regurgitate. Say something that makes sense... please.
Did they believe in God, The One God? If that's it, they may go to paradise if they honestly repented, asked for forgiveness and God accepted it from them. that doesn't mean God is unfair to their victims, if they are believers they will be well compensated and more.
Unfair? Compensated? What, does he give them an extra piece of candy at the gates? Religion can be amazing and life changing. I don't necessarily not believe in god, but you're not making any sense whatsoever. I get the feeling that you don't really know why you're saying what you're saying.
How can he love everyone equally when we live in an extremely unequal world? To me, the idea of god makes it seem like the earth and all its natural beauty, animals, plants, bacteria etc are here just for us, just so we can spend 80 odd years proving ourselves to a man that we cant see and have little to no evidence of other than a book written 2000 years ago! Also, if god is all around us, all seeing and all knowing, then why doesnt the bible cater for modern life, technology, science etc? Why would he bother creating an entire universe just for one little planet and one species to prove themselves? What about evolution, why doesn't god come and disprove that so we don't stray from his path and become non believers? Heaven doesn't seem appealing to me anyway, the ability to have anything I want for eternity would get boring pretty quickly! Not to mention the idea of it is pretty selfish, to be in paradise whilst the rest of the world down below continues to suffer! What I don't understand about God is that he sent his son 2000 years ago, without even being known to anyone before that, then hasn't come back since but expects everyone to hold faith and continue to live in his name, despite the fact we have developed technologies and have theories of evolution and such...
Alright, explain the meaning of life without God. You came by coincidence and then, you are just part of the human family series until it all vanishes to nothing or ....., Give it a sense!
Why must there be any meaning beyond what we do? Why are you so discontented that you look for external justification?
It is a good question to ask who is God? since people seem to believe in many. Simply, the God i'am taking about is The One who created heaven and earth, the universe and life as we know it. He is One, Has no wife, nor a son, He needs neither, He is Perfect.
OP did you read my post about the burden of proof? You're the one making the positive assertion- "god exists"- so it's your responsibility to justify it. It's not up to us to disprove... it's up to you to prove. It's our responsibility to sit back and laugh. P.S. I know you probably think you sound mystical and spiritual using language like that, but really it just disrupts effective communication and makes you sound like you don't know what you're talking about. Though this is in "mind fuck", so maybe I'm in the wrong here... Edit: what you just said clarifies absolutely nothing, and essentially means absolutely nothing.
Because, if there is no meaning, no justification, it wouldn't matter live an angel or a master criminal as long as it goes well with you! it will all come to an end, the victim dies a victim, and the criminal dies a criminal, and that's it. Is this what you believe in?
modern physics put it clear that the universe and life as we know it can not happen without God. Sit back, and tell me the meaning of life as you know it without God! Tell me, what life is without God, How it happened and continues. Sit back and give a sense!
