What films can you recomendate?? P.S. Have you seen Russian films??:H They are very good. I just don't like "Turkish gambit", it's about Russian-Tuurkish war. But I like "Night Patrol" very much. it's interesting. And "Humiliated and offended" is a good film too. But, shurely, it's not All of good Russian films.
War and Peace (1968) directed by Sergei Bondarchuk. Watch for the 5 DVD disc version from Russco (Russian Cinema Council) There is a another version with only Subtitles, fuzzy video and full screen. Full screen butchers the battles scenes (and most every other scene) while the Letter box perserves the integrity of the directors vision.
Underground (1995). It's not really Russian; I think it's Serbo-Croatian. Personally, I didn't get it, but I'm an American, and they don't teach us history over here. But it is a very artistic movie with a powerful message. If you are familiar with the conflict in Yugoslavia since WWII, you will love this film.
