What do you believe?
As if you can define such in one small ramble. [usually at a party]

Oh i wish i could spend 3 hours in room with Condaleezza Rice. What a woman. What a mind.

The smallness of the question i think. Is not worth a reply.

I believe rocks are hard. And Burger King dumps on big macks.

That god is a small thing made by our small minds when reality suggests far more than this simple belief.

Is being strongly in favor of coco puffs a belief?

 

We in the great southern land call them cocopops...
great stuff. I lived on them aged 9 to 11

 

i believe everything that doesn't complain about being ignored.

i believe everything i've seen, felt or experienced,
without someone else telling be about it first.

and usually not most of what anyone tells me about it later either.

i believe rocks and grass and trees, yah. and sometimes i believe little furry people too.

and i believe machines. the ones that make things and some that move things.
the ones that destroy things i try to stay away from.

i believe that each person, species, world, solar system, galaxy, are one among something there are many of.

air, water, food, shelter, imagination, don't hurt each other, and clean up our mess.

i believe i'm going to have to look for some other life form to occupy.
i hope i can find one on a world that doesn't think its the center of the universe.

hi, well, i'm actually still fool enough to believe humanity well someday outgrow its petty ego, though it will continue to have ample opportunity to destroy itself first.

what i really believe is that the limitations of human knowledge in no way reflect any such limitations on what can and probably does exist, and, of course, at the same time, much of what most people, myself included, think they know, bears absolutely no resemblance to whatever actually does.

true especially of things that aren't testable, in an objective sense, like beliefs. so i will continue my own belief in benign strangeness, invisible kitsune who curl up on top of my covers when i go to bed at night, and little plant spirits who dance with the shadows of leaves on a fine spring day. which may or may not include one or more gods, which its doing so is entirely up to it or them and not me.

 

Belief is a substitute for knowledge, a symbol chosen to represent an unknown variable.

I too am such a foolish person...I believe our race has a future because i love humanity.
Most of the individuals i cannot stand tho. I am sickened by the want for cruelty and horror people so easily do.

I'm not some idiot that thinks what i believe IS. My method allows some small hold on
what is purely from repeatability ' ie the sun always rises. things always fall down'.

The word faith. hijacked by religion, needs to be taken back by reasonable people.
That as i have done and you intimate. To curl up in the leaves around a great tree and feel its being, its connection. Is what our race has forgotten .

As a fusion of reason and faith. I see a design. Beings/networks of complexity straddle this world. Like us all a product of design. The mindless babble of "athiestic" # reactionaries
fill this forum. They are usually young and full of caca. maybe if they looked death in the face they would be remade.. who knows.

Know this.. Your posts struck me from day one a true and based in reality and experience.

To gain knowledge on any one thing is near to impossible.
No wise person ever says 'i know this to be true'
Everything is an unknown variable. [except cogito ergo..]
We jump an unending hopscotch path through the maze of events
as the 'now' advances.. leaving behind millions of half understood events.

"We follow in the footsteps of a ragdoll dance. we are entranced . spellbound"

My intent here on hip is to fuse desire and ego with reason and understanding. making i hope, a small wisdom. If i fail so be it.. But i must try.
Witout intent. without volition. I am but another joe citizen. I am defined by what i DO.
Peeps say my original posts are 'mysterious' or...... 'crap' is another term. Let them come. I fear nothing.

The word faith has been made blind in practice, whereas the true practice of faith is a little willingness to allow things to appear.

 

This is because knowledge is complete.

If I may make a suggestion, we find those most agreeable whom we agree with. Attack invites defense. A teachers goal must be to encourage the desire to learn. Knowledge is, being shared.

There is not one of us who does not worthily contribute. Even friction keeps us warm and vacancy provides space to fill. I appreciate you too. The few words are chosen from among millions. Must go through very many to find them.

 

This was easy with my daughter.. i handed her some books at her age 7 and said come back latter. We will talk. [ i had to pin her lips shut]
Now she is a child psychologist
For those raised in this garbage society it is not so easy.
