im not sure where i am supposed to post this, but i just heard that one of my friend's brothers may have killed himself, i really wanna do something for him, and although i do believe that there might be a god, i dont really agree with the christian beliefs.. what can i do that would be an alternative to praying? i will also pray of course, but i really just wanna, you know, do something

It's an impossible situation, because everything is so fragile and crazy, good intentions will get bungled or make things seem worse, you know? Mike's idea sounds good, really. It's the best that comes to my mind. Maybe someone who's been closer to this kind of situation can help you help.
dont pray praying doesnt do shit. That is very sad what happened, but just what is praying going to do for him? Nothing. Just be there for your friend and help him get through this, but don't pray it won't help anything and is a waste of time IMO
You said he 'may have killed himself', so, why worry? It's when he really does kill himself that you should feel bad. So, for now, just mind your business and don't bother the family. I'm sure if they just lost a kid, they wouldn't want you in their faces.
Just be there for your friend. I really don't what else you can do. If you thing there might be a God then pray on your own terms. Doesn't have to be a traditional Christian prayer, just say what you want to in a way that feels right. Not necessarily, and certainly not in my case. Just because I've never believed in Christianity doesn't mean I hate it. People can do what they like as long as it does no harm. TTFN Sage
