bbq rib eye steak which was of course marinated in italian salad dressing like i always do....also grilled a bartlett pear and a tomato to go with it...it was delicious

 

I had a giant burrito smothered in extra cheese and salsa for lunch. It was way bigger than I was expecting. I finished it though and then said I wouldn't need dinner. I was right.

Last time I was at the grocery I bought a bag of Old Trapper Deli Style Beef Sticks on a whim. Turns out they're quite tasty.

I drove out to kemptville with my mom today to check out their Wednesday night farmers market and try a restaurant out there. My parents are moving there next year, so we are trying to find all the good stuff to do out there. I had an extra fancy brisket poutine with red wine gravy. It was sooooooo good! We also stopped in a little coffee/bake shop on the way home and I got a box of lemon and thyme shortbreads.

 

I made a big pot of vegetable soup and a pone of cornbread. (lol I love saying pone. ) That was really good...

But the Most Delicious thing I had was some perfect watermelon...from the heart of it.

I'm going to go eat some more now.

This afternoon I had fresh shucked oysters. They were so incredibly delicious. I ordered twelve and ate 8 of them. The other 4 were shared with the table. I would have gladly enjoyed the whole dozen to myself, though. I love oysters. My mouth is literally watering as I type this.

It's been too hot to cook, I've been eating sushi all week from different places. The first two pics are from the same place, some of my favourite sushi. The reddish stuff is crispy sweet potato strings over maki. Those maki have mango in them, yum! The one to the right is rainbow maki with salmon, tuna and avocado. The second pic, the ones on the right are a Hako called Typhoon with mango and avocado on top, another favourite. The third pic is a different sushi place, the top maki are called Quebec, with shrimp, crab and avocado and that's syake (salmon) nigiri to the right. Unfortunately they don't carry sashimi which I really like, so I get the nigiri. I should be sushi'd out, but I just want more!

I had some leftover Indian food I made...well, my bastardized version of Indian food. I had some sort of premixed pav bhaji marsala easoning I bought a while back so I threw some lentils, peas and tomato paste together with the seasoning yesterday, it was gross because the lentils were still a little bland and under cooked.

Anyways, so today I simmered what was left for a while to fully cook the lentils and added ghee. And I made naan from scratch, which was also bastardized because it somehow came out flaky like a biscuit..but the overall effect was delicious!
