Being too young to drive and underage with conservative parents, I'm not in a conveinant position to be very politically active, other than the things I read. So, I would like to hear ways you guys (anyone who's in high school) do to express and promote your opinions. Tomorrow at school I'll be handing out stickers to anyone interested promoting Saturday's march on the Pentagon. Though I'm unable to go, I guess this would be a good time to promote pacifism, and hopefully reduce apathy, which seems to be an epidemic these days. www.marchonpentagon.org I would have joined Students for a Democratic Socity a long time ago, but you have to give your address, and I try to avoid any political converstions with my parents. I'll probably just use a friend's address when I do it. And suggestions? And what do you think about the sticker idea?
nice idea with the sitcker, but its the wrong idea. try and promote ideas, not events. sure the protest is good, but what of it if they dont know what their there for. write a newsletter. sell it for a quarter, trust me, people seem to want it more when they pay just a little. feel free to teach the kids something useful while their at school. dig?
I've considered that, and I was a bit worried it would be taken as too... um... cliche? no.... well, too something... But now that you mention it, I suppose it IS a really good idea; the school I go to doesn't have many people who are politically concerned so that would probably succeed in raising awareness. I'm not sure if my other non-apathetic friend would want to help out, so I might be alone in doing so. But I guess that's what it's all about, right? GOD I hate living in a red state. >.<
of couse thats what its all about. if you dont, who will? plus chicks dig revolutionaries. when you lead, many will follow
even better when someone acts insted of just giving a fuck i gave a speech last year, ill post it up this weekend, it was cool, alot of people listened, but a few good people actualy heard what i had to say.
