What a HOOT!

The gf and I went on a hike today.. as I was resting I looked at this tree and I saw it blink... upon closer inspection.. there was an owl's nest in the hole!

yup.. was definitely a youngin'.. there was an adult in there as well.. but only caught a sight of it for a second..

 

Pretty cool.. owls are nice animals.

 

I seen a great owl a few years back..the thing was a few feet tall and probably 4 or 5 foot wing span

when he flew you could hear the whoosh of his wings it was awesome

 

ive never met an owl

 

There aren't any leaves on the trees in Minnesota yet. Interesting.

 

Awww it's so cute! I've always liked owls.. except the time my friend and i were driving at night and one swooped down in front of our windshield and we were so scared cause we thought it was a ghost hahah i don't think we've ever drove faster home.

 

it's just starting to get above 50F now around here... this year has started out slow.. and cold

 

we only have buds on the trees

i wouldn't say owls are nice. anyone see that barn owl video on youtube?

 

is it scary?^

 

That's awesome! I've never had the pleasure of seeing an owl anywhere other than pics and on tv. lol They're beautiful.

 

Ferns were starting to blossom..

 

anyone hear about the owl that stole some lady's pomeranian out of her back yard and dropped it in the middle of a busy street and someone almost ran it over and it lived?

I've seen two owls in nature before.

When I was 11 I went to the beach with my family one Saturday. I ran to a garbage can to throw something out and when I looked in the garbage there was a big dead owl in there. Freaked me out.
