Weird stuff happens...

when you prey in tongues...

On the first day of my baptism by the holy spirit, I was preying in tongues with the lady who ministered to me. She drives me to school. So, anyways, sitting infront of my school, We saw this guy who's a senior I told her his name (Fabio) , and talked about him, and I was speaking tongues for my first time. And What happens?

Later that day, Fabio, me, and other people in my school were sitting in a room. We started talking...about religion, and I found out what all their beliefs were! And they found out I was christian! After a while the Da Vinci Code ( started by Fabio ) came up! He said it was his favourite book, and I told him that it was wrong, and we had a long conversation about it!

That was tongues: *first attempt


Now,
the seconed time I preyed in tongues before school ( following Monday), our *favourite* topic came up : CREATIONISM VS. EVOLUTION.
(*is sarcastic*)

And guess who brought it up? FABIO! He was mocking the Adam and Eve story along with some other Guys. They talked to a fellow christian (I wasn't sure if she was saved or not) , and she went like:

" Please don't talk with me about that! I don't believe in evolution..."
Guy goes: " Y-y-you DON'T Believe in evolution?!"
I go: "Neither do I."
People in the room: O_____o;
And we talked.


Conscidering the fact that they didn't know I was a Christian until no. 1 happened, -On the same day I got SPIRIT BAPTISED and prayed in TONGUES for the FIRST time in my life, watching Fabio while doing it-
I was pretty dumbfound...

About every 8 out of 10 times weird stuff happens when I pray in tongues now. I'm pretty convinced.

My conclusion: If you prey in tongues, You'd better watch out!

Hmmm... why do christians speak in tounges?

 

1) Satan don't understand it.

2) When you pray in tongues, it's not you, but your spirit talking. Most of the time one does not really understand what he/she's saying (unless you ask God for interpretation), but one knows, whatever the spirits saying, is right.

3)You pray about things you may not know, for instance, if one has a demon, and you (your soul) doesn't know it, the spirit will pray for them.

4) It helps you grow spiritually

5) And many other things. Hey, God gave it to you! Why not use it?


Now, there's also demonic tongues, usually spoken by Paganists/Satanists.
But Our Tongues language is Holy.

Most Pagans/Satanists say they're demonic ( I mean, if I talk with very serious ones.- The ones who do blood sacrifices).

The Bible says so aswell. Hey, just saying what I know.

 

I am glad to hear that you exercise your tongue daily! Many people of faith have either been misled by wayward teachings and have never heard of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, or they denounce it, presuming that it is false.

 

OK, lets break this down, ryu. Pagans and Satanists are two different things. Maybe not in your mind, but in reality, they are. Satanists believe in your God, the God of Abraham. They have to. If there is a Satan, then there must be a God.

In my belief, there is no such thing as a demon. Because there is no such thing as Satan. Because the God of Abraham does not exist as my God. Also, Pagans do not do blood sacrifice. We are taught that all life is the most precious gift and most (myself included) do not even eat animal flesh. I have no idea what Satanists do at ceremony and really don't care to know. I know you're young and very involved with your church and in touch with your beliefs, but you plain and simply spreading mistruths.

Finally, I have read the bible many times. Please tell me in there where it says that non-Christians are demonic. I don't recall that scripture. Could you tell me chapter and verse please? I'm very interested.

 

In this day and age, I am sure that most Pagans do not continue the practice of blood sacrifice, however, ancient Pagans did. In fact, Historical records, pictographs, and other physical evidence makes it clear that the practice of human sacrifice was ubiquitous, practiced by Celts, Germans, Slavs, Scythians, Greeks, Africans, Asians, Polynesians, Amerindians and Canaanites.

 

Basic Satanists don't believe in the God of Abraham. Basic satanists think that they're worshipping themselves. As they get more into it, lucifer promisses them about ruling parts of hell.

You must be a different sect (?) than wicca, because wiccans do blood sacrifices, and so did the ancient pagans. Before I got saved, I was into paganistic stuff, believe me. I know. But I decided: who needs Magic if you've got God?

BTW: I put them in the same catagory because they both use pentagrams and do blood sacrifices (maybe not your 'religion' though).

 

I am not wiccan, I am a Celt. I don't wear a pentagram. I don't conjure spirits or demons, I don't cast spells. I worship the earth, the trees, the seasons, the sowing and the reaping, all the things that sustain me. There is no blood, there is no sacrifice other than that which I give for my family and my kinsman.

This is bad?

 

meh, when I say pagan I generally talk about those who mess with magic(k). You're just a heathen for me!

You're not one of them, so you don't have a tongues language, therefore you don't have demonic tongues.

I wanna know about some Christian's tongues stories!
(get this forum back to the Bible, there've been to many flame wars going on in here. -War's not what Christianity's about! It's about love, love for the Lord above,his love, and...the Supernatural! )

 

just kinda off, yet still on topic: toungues are only an indicator of recieving the Holy Spirit, am i correct? they are not a requirement

 

They are also a requirement. Ephesians 6:18 and Jude 1:20 tells us that we must continually pray in the Spirit, which we do by praying in our God given tongue. If you do not exercise tongues, the ability to do so becomes dormant. This results in a trip back up to the altar and a prayer of renewing. It does not mean you have lost the Spirit of Christ. It just means you have lost your ability to speak in his language.

 

Here's what happens:

When you become born again, you receive the holy spirit, he lives in you.

Then there's Baptism by the Holy Spirit (generally done after, but sometimes done on the same time as the Water Baptism.). This is when you pray this one prayer to signify that you're ready to receive his gifts, this includes Tongues!

You don't have to do this, but it's highly recommended that you do, IMO. I like the gifts.

 

ok, so, like, what i kinda mean, is like, for the baptism in the Holy Spirit, does not nessecarily have to have tongues involved?

 

You do not possess the Spirit of Christ without tongues. Tongues are the baptism of the Spirit.

You may be shocked, but my friend knows some backslit Christians that can STILL pray in tongues, but don't want to.

I guess it says you need to continually do so because it brings you closer to God .
