I see so many people posting or replying on here about how they are strapped for cash or on tight budgets, so I thought I'd make a thread to help those people. How are you saving money? I'm canceling my cable. I only have basic, but its $50 a month that I don't need. We are setting up one of our old computer towers as a "media center" with the TV to watch shows. There are lots of good websites that have full TV shows and movies and documentaries. So, what are you doing out there to save money? Or to make money, even?
I just paid over $500 for my internet (i pay for the year) it kind of had me thinking that it would be better in my pocket but I caved in...id get so much more done without internet
Borrow books instead of buying them. Do not buy what you do not need. Carry homemade tea or coffee in a homemade thermous flask to work or school instead of getting them from the vending machine. Take a homemade lunch with you instead of eating out.
Yeah we hardly ever go out to eat either...we went out to eat last night for the first time since March...it was a real treat to be able to go out! And orison, I'm going to start growing some budz too...I have the perfect spot in my cellar to do it Hopefully I can make a few bucks off that in the future
Next time you eat out, try the soup kitchen for homeless people. Apparently they won't charge you money.
Plan your meals for the week rather than going shopping without a plan, that causes you to impulse buy or buy unneeded items "for later". Pack lunches and drinks for the day. Turn water off when not in use. Learn to sew, recycle clothing. Make your own products, you can make laundry soap, dish soap, soap, lotion and body scrubs (recipes on youtube) Ride a bike or walk whenever possible. Turn off the lights
its not about me making money. its about not giving what I have to someone else. however i do buy a lot of regs to get by... I think we have talked about the expense b4. to do the math. if weed was $25 an 1/8 . Ida spent $9,125.oo in a yr.. that's a new car..
weed is cheap where you are then! I'd get some regs...no strangers, just friends of mine. Maybe a handful of people
I just remembered my latest savings plan...Im selling my S.U.V. (for way more than it cost me) and switching to a 4cyl toyota car instead as my main vehicle should result in at least $60 less on fuel each week
yeah, gas is a big one. I do drive a big truck, but my husband drives a smaller SUV, so we take his vehicle most of the time. And what sucks more is that we live in an area where its a few miles walking distance to get anywhere. In the summer, that's fine, but in the winter, it sucks. We've been selling a lot of things on ebay lately, too...got rid of a ton of random things that were worth a few bucks...I've made about $200 in the last week on ebay sales which I was psyched about!
i would be interested in what these people are doing to not save money. i've never made a lot of money, never made a conscious effort to save, and never come close to running out of money.. buy in bulk. if you got that in ounces it would be more like 5500. and you wouldn't have to deal with your dealer every single day.
i have a good bit saved up, but the last few weeks ive been spending left and right and maybe breaking even for the week. damn! how do i save? well it helps to have a free roof over your head, and i work a job that pays relatively well even though i could get paid twice as much for the same thing in atlanta just an hour north.
I pee in my front lawn to save on the water bill. No point in using 2 gallons for every couple of ounces. I also think i get more out of my bladder when im outside. I feel much more comfortable. I only have neighbors on the sides, so i just look at the cottonwood trees and let it flow.
I love herbs but damn dude you smoke too much. I smoked a track a day also when I was a grower but looking back on it that was excessive. My life revolved around smoking weed.
My problem with saving is I eat lunch out, and go out to eat and get drunk all the time. And I buy shit like it doesn't matter. I'm by far the worst at managing money.
Stop driving or taking the bus and buy a bicycle. Don't spend money on stupid shit like coffee in the morning or soda during the day. Learn to love oatmeal.
