    No.

The chat rooms are loaded with virii-spreading punks, and WaReZ is chock full of spyware and adware.

Take a look at this thread. ;)

But the bigger problem is that my wallet gets lighter ;) .

Whatever you do, don't get ROMs or emulators from any file sharing programs. Those are choc full of bad shit.

Invest in a good anti-virus i had sophos which is pretty expensive when aquired legally. It checks all downloading files and stops any which contains a virus it also checks every folder as you go into it and stops you from accessing any files which contain virus's its an excellent program. Shame i lost it now im stuck with norton anti-virus.

I mostly do the irc thing anyways, but when I get desperate I'll resort to p2p.

I stick to Kazaa for MP3, Suprnova (Bitorrent) for games, and that Russian site (in the above linked post) for apps. I find that 99% of web-based bootlegs are virus-free and actually work. :p

I always had problems with Kazaa, but have been running gnutella fine for about 6-9 months.

warez are great!!! There is no real virus threat (unless you are a complete moron with computers)

the money you save on shit is worth the few minutes it takes to run a program like adaware

Not everyone does, and 90% of people either don't know about or can't understand how emulators work, mush less find good ROMs or get them working properly. Another 9% would rather play their games on a TV or Gameboy anyway. Besides, the only ROMS you can get and keep that work even halfway are from before the PSX era. Hell, you can't even find a descent N64 emulator (believe me, I've tried).

As for music and movies, most of the money involved goes to overpaid actors and musicians who suck anyway. Jusy because they run a few ads showing the camera crew and art director asking people to stop pirating dosen't change the fact that the shitty actors make a dozen times more money off a movie than the rest of the people involved in the making of it do (except of course the director and producer, but most of the time they suck too).
