Thanks for this link, Karsten. I'm looking for organisations which offer such working-trips rightnow. But it's not so easy to get a program which I can afford. Think this in a bit difficult...
Craze I've just come to Kenya through Global Volunteer network (www.volunteer.org.nz) It is the cheapest organisation I could find and it runs 2 week to 6 month programs starting twice a month. You can go to any continent and the choice of programs is huge. There are a number of other organisations that do similar work, but at least in Kenya, they all run through the same local organisation VICDA, but charge a lot more than GVN. This is mainly because GVN has worked very hard to ensure that they have very little operating costs and so the majority of the money you pay goes straight to VICDA to organise your placement. I'm working at an orphanage and teaching and tutoring the kids in the local school - it is awesome! If you're interested then you have to do it!
I'm already doing my little volunteer work in Morocco, working as a tour guide in Marrakech museum... please join! It's a worthy cause!
