Well "onership" is a term I do not use. I am not replying to the feeding of animals. That has already been addressed above. But keeping animals? I see nothing wrong with it, as long as the animal is a rescue. Our dog would be dead if we didn't adopt him. He is a wonderful member of our family. It all depends on how you view them as to whether or not it's "vegan". I feel adopting from a shelter is a gift you give the animal and yourself. We love our animals like they are children, not property. I haven't really encountered a vegan or vegetarian that didn't have animals.
