I have to get black skid-proof shoes for work but I can't find any that aren't made of leather. If anyone can tell me of stores or websites where I could find (fairly cheap) synthetic shoes I'd appreciate it. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the link, but Moo Shoes and the others are a bit pricey. I'm looking to spend around $50 max. The only requirements are that they need to be all black, no canvas, certified skid-proof, less than a 2" heel, and not open-toed. I'm a restaurant hostess if that gives you a better idea.

so you need flats with grip. Payless shoes. look for "man made materials."

Birkenstock Birki Clogs are great, too. They wear like tanks - I've had mine for about ten years. Hose 'em off every once and again, keep on truckin. You can usually pick up a pair on eBay for fairly cheap.
