Got this on the agr from glowing feather: begin forwarded message(s) _______________________________ Latest Info from the front line. There now is an encampment of vehicles & rainbows 1/4 mile long waiting to get in. I guess we found parking. They are all off the road. There are plenty (Miles) of places to pull over and that's where the majority of folks are going. I again tried to get in for day visit and was denied and even they used the word quantined I guess that's even stronger than a blockade. They thus far have not ticketed those waiting but they all will be subject to ticket, thus far no arrests. They have issued over 120 tickets for two mass court dates the first being on June 28th. They are closing the regional headquarters next week and they are over 100 law enforcement offices taking turns patrolling. They offered to let in a news crew but had to be escorted by police they declined for now. They did get statements from some folks waiting to get in. There is a news story today in the local paper web www.theintermountain.com. There are some small encampments under 75 and available at spring council and at knob hill and low cost $2 night at bear mountain. People waiting to get in asked me to tell folks to come ASAP and flood them with demands to let us come hOMe. A brother [name removed] has called for a council tomorrow (Thursday) on the bridge at 12 noon please post on agr & to all who are in the area. The Forest Service has denied permit for this area but wants us to go to an old mining quarry. I do not think we are even considering the move. I will e-mail again after council tomorrow. This is glowing feather and the spirit of the family here is strong and united we need some family legal help and more national media also try to think of ways that we can get around the blockade (legal challenge) All my joy & peace & Love the press got a big WE LOVE YOU from at least 100 rainbows waiting to get in. We are coming hOMe Always All Ways glowing feather This is the information I sent to the media this evening (June 14th). I hope it helps. Love, [name removed] June 14th, 2005 Rumor Mill from the Rainbow Gathering Rumor has it the United States Forest Service has erected a blockade at the Rainbow Gathering in the Monongahelia National Forest east of Elkins, near Alpena to stop the flow of gatherers heading home. The United States Forest Services wants an individual to sign a group use permit for the gathering. As the permit application states, it's a felony to falsify information on a federal document and the person signing must be a "duly authorized representative" of the group. The Federal government has created a Catch-22 situation. No individual can be duly authorized by a non-hierarchical free assembly open to all peoples. Any person that is terrorized by the United States Forest Service into signing will be committing a felony. Despite various alternatives offered by individual gatherers to the United States Forest Service over a number of years, the Incident Command team continues to try to enforce a regulation targeting corporations and non-profit groups on a public assembly event. As people stream into the area to attend the annual Gathering of the Tribes and are turned away from the gathering site, they are bound to pile up in adjacent areas. As of June 13th, approximately 115 people were at the gathering site behind the blockade and countless others are wandering the back roads of West Virginia with no place to land. As the days go by, the number of wandering gypsies stranded near Elkins, West Virginia is bound to grow. The only way to get the facts on this situation is to go to the gathering site and talk to the people behind the blockade. There are some gatherers with information on the situation holed up at the Stuart Camp ground. Peace! ___________________________ end forwarded message(s) peace!

From: 907 Sent: 6/14/2005 3:57 PM Latest on the gathering pas it on I went in to site with 876 (kid village bus) got in but on my way out where told that the group had exceeded 74 and that all vehicles are being turned around. That was around noon. Yesterday, they (LEO's) gave out 80 tickets for gathering without a permit at the Spring Council/holding camp site that is 25 miles from there. The whole front gate than went last evening to the National site and took up front gate again. 876 gave them strong loving words to act honorable and not to block the road. But then 1 hour latter the feds did it...go figure. So now as it stands 888,546 are at the supply gate, The Front gate is brought to you by the folks that gave you spring council , Kiddie village is in but 9345 & the kids may be in the blockade, about 115 folks according to the comander on the blockade and he says that untill a permit is signed or crown under 74 the blockade will stand. Please get the message to national family by agr. we need press, we need folks to come now. I believe we can over run them. Unless some one signs they (feds) will resist letting us get on with gathering. If they give out 100 more tickets or a 1,000 we will all demand individual council because the goverment is forcing us to comit forgery by signing a non existant organization called RAINBOW. I tried to explain we are opposite than an organization we are a Dis Organ I Zation (one nation one rainbow one earth one moon one sun one universe Its not perverse but free verse) Just like each one of us. I do believe with all my heart that we must unite and either all of us 10,000 plus demand to get a ticket and press for each to have one lawer becvause we are individuals and if they put one they must put us all in federal jail for 3 months where we can take care of all our medical, dental etc. maybe write that book or create that song. The thing they are doing are going after individuals that do lots to help keep our family safe, secure, good water, shante seana, proberly even calm folks if they can get their hands on them. The rest of us go home and the few have to deal with this permit shit. The other way is to sign it as a permit council (florida ffamily idea) or individual that will consult the gathering at a nood council say on the 21 of june. I will not sign not will I be apart of a group signing but encourage those that feel that it will make the gatehring safer do it now...sooner than latter so the family can start building our welcome home rainbow nationals But seriously folks do not know what to do here. Two choices is for some to go to Cheat River (spring council site) there are few there now and wait or stack up at the front gate. My wife (2748) and I are at the stuart camp ground (paid) last night 876 and a few aothers where there also. There are plenty of sites available till we get this figured out its $15 night unless you are over 62 or disabled than 1/2 price. There are plenty of turn offs for free camping. I will come in again towmorrow to check e-mail so please pass this on love & light...ignore all rumors of cancilation...we are comming hOMe rather they like it or not. ...PS Does anyone know how to get in touch with national media. So far the locals been real supportive here in town, some shoplifting but way little so far. Love you family and awaiting our We Union in our CHURCH Collective Home
I don't get the numbers thing either.... map coordinates? *sigh* my thoughts and prayers are with all gatherers now. wish I could go home, instead going for a drug test...
Lovin' everyone, I was at the noon council meeting outside the site today at the bridge. Consensus was not met. Badger is looking at one other site today. But all are holding strong. We do need more brothers and sisters A reporter from the local paper Leah stayed for all of the council and took extensive notes should be a good article. The forestry service is bringing up endangered species being possibly harmed at this present site being local I brought up at council that it is convenient for them to use this against us but when the local environmentalists(me) protest logging, quarries, mines, etc and try to protect endangered species and plants and trees they ignore the flying sqirrel, salamanders, and bats etc.The spirits are strong here come and join us. I again will liason messages too as I live in town and go back and forth sometimes camp out. always free, always peace, jahmai
thank you sister,, theres only so much of a pipeline for info.. i think everyone thats able is coming ASAP,,, if it is still as dire of a situation,, im gonna sacrifice a week in babylon that i cant afford to be there next weekend,, tis the best i can do.. in the mean time,,please any news ya can relay would be apreciated.. Luv~N~Lite hilly dilli an clan..
Dear (deleted) the latest from my observation also comment to your report, State Police seem ok nothing like last year cali gathering. They ar3e sticking by the endaged specis story which locals on the scene say is bull they have plans near this forest to dig another quarry. There will be more about this in town meeting tonight. take out what you like from this report and post on agr. cannot access it at this library We had a most beautiful council today at high noon (Thurs) on site about 100 yards from blockade. Over 100 folks took part, not one agro moment, the group is very united and lots of energy to stay and build. To get into the site there are many options and crews taking folks in around the roadblock itâ?Ts the if thereâ?Ts a will thereâ?Ts away. The conventional thinking thus far is that this is the site but if a better one with less police interference is scouted folks will be open to move but for now they are digging in. I connected with lightwarrior, calm folks and the water crew they went in yesterday through the secret mirror so they are hOMe & CALM. The situation as of 2pm front gate is like this The front gate road still blocked by many leoâ?Ts 24 hours. People are lining up after the roadblock. CALL is out for FOOD there is a few makeshift kitchens but all are lacking food. Money still can be sent for scouts they are using their own funds, as the well is dry from scouting bank account. People lining up have been told that they could be issued tickets (120) last count but none in the area where people are waiting. There are two campgrounds in area one $5 Bear haven up the mountain from spring council 15 miles from site also at Stuart campground that is $15 night (hot showers) that is at the beginning road to spring council site the first right. At that corner to Knob Hill where the bear haven camp is there is a group site that has about 40 rainbows and still open for more campers to hold till the gate is open its free and can not fit 74 people so the LEOÂ's have been letting it happen without hassle. There is a town meeting tonight and I will go with any others that want to explain the negative views on the radio and in the papers. So far the towns people have loved us and is sharing the vision to let us gather. There is a disinformation let out that there are environment issues but was discredited by local folks that have environmental backgrounds that live near by Elkins. 1. Bat protected are migrating this time of year 2. The camping area is pretty trashed out by non-rainbow users (glass, cans, cig butts but family is cleaning out) 3. Salamanders & flying squirrel habitats can be found & protected as well as a flower clover. The locals that spoke in circle today (several) all say itâ?Ts a lie that the area in question is under any protection because the locals use it almost every holiday and never had to sign a permit.
the numbers replace names in the original message. A lot of Rainbows don't like their names 'strewn' all about, just like some folks prefer not to have their pictures taken.
hippiehillbilly - don't let 'em get to you. We know it's essential to stand together, but like every other time, it's gonna turn out OK when it's 20,000 peace warriors against a few hundred feds (who, despite their jobs, are often very sympathetic as individuals, as are the staties)

Apppointment Next Week, I Can't Leave That Early, He Has Gas Money. Send E-mail, No Phone. I Want To Go To. Peace & Blessings! Linda P.s. I Sent Strong Message To Governor, And To Talk To Governor Tome Ridge, About Rainbow Family. Leave It Up To The Forest Service, Ridiculous, This Is Not Anything New, Charles Says. I Don't Know!
What if the Forest Service has a point? What if the site was chosen without doing any research into the endangered species that the forest service says will be impacted by the gathering? Is there any info that these 5 endangered animal and plant species won't be negatively effected by the gathering? Not everyone who works for the Forest Service is aligned with the interests of logging and mining. Some really are concerned about the environment.
Anyone ever think that the Forest Service might just be trying to come up with a reason to move the gathering that the Rainbow family might find agree-able??
true about some of the indivduals ....but the forest service as a whole is a corrupt money and power driven organization.....and there record for the way they treat the ecosystem and indangered species ...is well known for not being very good at all.....rainbow rubs the government wrong ...it goes against the system....so they will try to disencourage it by any mean possible...
Locals and non-FS environmentalists say that this area doesn't have the concerns that the FS is claiming. The area is very popular for camping and regularly holds large groups. we read in local media sources that the area is being concidered for strip mining in the near future. Still think that the FS has the animal's best interests at heart?
>>Locals and non-FS environmentalists say that this area doesn't have the concerns that the FS is claiming.<< Is the "area" mentioned above the paticular site that that gathering has chosen? Are there any references that can be provided for who the non-FS environmentalists are? Thanks
Not knowing much about the Rainbow since my time was over 30 years ago and I've been doing other stuff, can someone give me a synopsis of what the issue is? Tranquility, Scott
