Unimpressed by celebrities?

Am I the only one that is unimpressed by celebrities?

A friend of mine mentioned that one of his female friends is dating a member of Pantara. He was so excited about it and when I didn't make a big deal he took offense to it.

I also recently found out that this guy I've been seeing for a couple of months is a local celebrity and in a way it's almost turned me OFF...he must have sensed that when he took me to a shin-dig with popular sports names and I found it COMPLETELY unimpressive. Must have been why he never mentioned he's pretty well known in the jamband scene...

Sorry, a celebrity is just another person to me who was in the right place at the right time.

 

Depends who they are, if I met someone I really thought was talented and did work I liked, the event would stand out to me, if it was some running back for the Cincinnati Bengals it would not.

 

I bet you'd find me pretty damn impressive because I'm about as far from a celebrity as they come.

 

i'm impressed by celebrities and unimpressed by just another person

 

I feel like some people are celebs because they do good things and some are there because they are "made" and usualy you can tell who to respect and who's a piece of plastic. But I rarely pay attention to celebs at all. there are a few I do respect.

 

i like the celebraties who have talent yet they do not take themselves seriously

 

Whether someone is a celebrity or not really makes little difference to me. People are people.

 

Celebrities are just people earning a living, btw.......... I like beautiful women with nice tits

 

not all celbrities are people... some are animals... there's that elephant that paints and that gorilla that talks and mr. ed and lassie

 

Interesting topic. I have been pretty well known in the area where I live, both as a broadcaster and a musician. I get uncomfortable when people use the "Celebrity" tag with me. I just have a high profile job. I don't expect any special treatment for it.

Most people that I have met who are bona fide big time celebrities have been pretty cool folks.

 

dont really care enough to really even think about it and take the time and write how unimpressed i am....
you say you are unimpressed but i can guarantee you you would freak out if you saw a famous person who you liked just because the time you took to write about it...

 

there are celebrities, such as Tom Hanks, that is full of talent yet stays out of the lime light...then there are celebrities such as Bono that stays in the lime light but in seeking their causes and in trying to better the world( and their ego)there are ones such as Britney Spears that will do anything to stay in the light...
so just as people are people...celebrities are as well....some are unable to help their popularity...
all in all though, personally, their status generally is a turn off to me until i am actually able to see that they deserve it.


and Johnny Depp.....or Viggo Mortenson....or Drew Barrymore...or numerous other musicians....i would cream myself to meet

 

Well, I had just gotten off the phone with my friend who got mad at me because I wasn't impressed about the whole friend + the member of Pantara. This IS random thoughts...so I wrote about it.

No, it wouldn't matter what celeb I met...people are people...some are just luckier than others...

people are people, just some have more talent then others. not all celebritys are talented though...some just have good looking faces.

lol i pretty much agree..i mean when i hung out with ram das i enjoyed hangin out with him asa person..just shootin the shit,, but when the crowds started gathering & he was treated as more then a person i lost total interest & went for a walk
also when people say stuff like did youy see that moveie with so & so in it..i'm always like i have no idea..what was it about? people pay more attention to whos in a movie then the actual movie..& i cant personaly tell yawhos in 1 single movie i've ever seen..cause i really just poay no sattention to it

 

case in point..who is avril lavigne & why would i care?
