Unicorns Are Real, I Have Proof

For those who think unicorns are only mythology:

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? (Job 39:9)

If the bible says it, it must be real ... right?

 

I mean... alot of that can just come from the ideas the unicorn represented in traditional stories... but point taken.

Wow, you can point out discrepancies in the Bible and present them in a manner that implies everyone else must be ignorant of said discrepancies? You must be a genius!! Or...a 16 year old.

Didn't you say on another post that you wanted more intellectual, balanced discussions on religion? Because something tells me mockery and belittlement aren't the best places to start if that's really your goal.

Some people are Christian. Some people are atheist. Some people are none of the above. It might be a good idea to just accept this reality and move on with your life.

 

i was raised on a unicorn farm in ireland...of course they are real....we had to get into the unicorn business because the flock of dragons was too much work for my gammy

 

The word "unicorn" is most likely a misinterpreted word in the bible, just like "shem" was in the old testament.
We're lead to believe that "Shem" means "name" and for us to ascend to heaven we must make a name for ourselves.
Now when this is interpreted properly through the language it was taken from you get - for us to ascend to the heavens man must make a rocketship for himself.

In biblical times rhinoceroses were often referred to as unicorns. As well as any other single horned animal. Many of the one horned animals alive then have been extinct for a LONG time. Having a single horn was a symbol of great strength, and the fairy tale unicorn you are thinking of hadn't even been made up yet.

There are actually two theories of the meaning of "unicorn" found in the King James Bible. One is that it is a misleading translation or mis-translation of the Hebrew re'em,which is better translated "wild ox". Since the wild ox in profile or relief representations appears to have one horn, the Greeks gave it the name monokeros or "one horn" (unicorn in Latin). The word re'em was translated in the Koine Greek Septuagint as monokeros.
Other scholars think that the unicorn was actually a rhinocerous, which has a dominant horn on its snout.

it was very common to have various animals as appliances in the olde days
