Hey im 16 i had an idea about starting an underground newspaper were the brainwashing all starts, my school. I'm thinking i might be able too change some minds. Tell me if you have any ideas or opinions about this.
maybe work on killing them typos..... anyways, I think that if you can get what you want at your school you should definently do that... I doubt you will be able to but good luck
Okay i'm going to skip the obvious 'reading in arkansas' joke... But having a counter balance to the b.s. you encounter in schools is a great idea, and a laudable cause, even if you are trying to brainwash people yourself....
I did this in high school. Then I joined the ranks of those slobs we call reporters in the "real world" (please remind me this IS an illusion) set an amount of pages. You will probably do a four-page 8 1/2 x11 to begin with or eight pages of folded 11x17. What's your content? You know your market readers. How do you get them to pick it up? By the way, libel can be used against student journalists, so no lies or defamations. If I remember, Rogers is near Fayetteville, sort of, yes?
We did an underground paper in Highschool but kept our identity completely anonymous. It was rather cool the first time someone told us about this weird newspaper they found and how cool it was. We distributed outside of school too though at shows and various places like the park etc... in stealth mode. It got really popular but then one dude broke the silence and tried to take credit for the whole thing and it went down the toilet. I'd say make sure you have a solid team that works well together and no little power trippers. Props though, good luck.
