Uber addictive games

I have stumbled upon my poison, Guild wars, it is digital crack and I can barely tear myself away, it's a non subscription MMORPG,

So what is your poison, what game have you said "just five more minutes" and been there three hours later?

 

im playin GW now too... its awesome ... sucks that I have to make one of each character before I can use all the skills in PVP only mode.
At least it doesnt take that long to get to lvl 20.
so far im a Mesmer / Ranger and its pretty shweet... love mah pussy.

 

I love my monk, he's the first one gone after in pvp but I unlocked the superior rune of whatever that ups my hp, I can bleed for 30 seconds and still be standing

 

i used to play diablo II LOD, that game was freakin crack.

my husband and i almost got divorced over online RPGs. Dont laugh. Its the most depressing thing i have ever seen. A grown man who comes home everyday, logs onto the internet so he can go have imaginary battles, instead of having a real life. Yes, i know there are people out there who have the self control to pull themselves out of a game when real life demands it, but a lot of people dont.
My husband and i barely spoke for a year because when he wasnt at work, he was gamming. I had to all the cooking, cleaning, shopping, bill paying, plus i had my own job. He wouldnt even have sex with me because by the time he managed to pull himself away from the computer, he was too tired to even get a hard on. He didnt take showers or even attend to basic personal hygine (teeth brushing, putting on deoderant) because it cut in on his computer time.

i talked, begged, pleaded, then finally delivered an ultimatum : either the gaming goes or i go. He thought i was kidding, so i left.
we were seperated awhile before he was willing to admit he was wrong and agreed to chuck the games.
things are going alright at this point, but we have only been back together for 3 months.

end of story

 

I can spend a good day on Civilization III.

The only game I was ever really addicted to was Delta Force Land Warrior.

 

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, on Xbox.

I've told myself, just 5 more minutes...and the next thing I know 5 hours have gone by.

I'm just glad I beat it (twice) so I'll never have to look at the stupid thing again.

Great game though.

 

Civ3... I'm always saying "just one more turn, just another turn", though Sacred's fairly addictive too with all it's little sidequests n' such.

 

any mmorpg is extremely addictive, since theres no end to them
ive spent a few years playing them almost continuously
ive also seen people drop out of school because tehy wouldnt stop playing them

 

OMG, when I was younger I would play Ultima Online for HOURS. MMORPG's are so damn addictive a person needs a 12-step program to get off those things.

I don't play MMORPG's anymore, I just don't have that kinda time, now I play a lot of FPS's. I was really hooked on Wolfenstein ET a while back, played Doom, Call of Duty, and now I am playing Halo2 (although it doesn't compare to an FPS on the PC - but it is nice to sit on your couch and play).

I don't really care for RTS's, my husband likes those though. Starcraft, warcraft 3 are his favorites (he played WC3 so much it annoyed even me, and I love gaming myself). My husband was one of those kids who dropped out of school and played games all the time. But through his obsession with his computer he gained some really good computer skills and is now a programmer and DBA, so he doesn't feel bad about not having a high school diploma. But I know his case is not the average for such obsessed gamers.

 

mmmmmmm i just bought this game today, and I only shut it down because I got called into work... sooooo good and delicious and addictive.

 

For me it has to be Max Payne 1 & 2. It keeps you hanging at the edge of your seat. Completed 1, still working on 2.

 

well I'm still hooked..... twelve step program mos def necesary...... So damn addictive..... and it doesn't even need cd in drive...... so addictive :drool drool:

 

back in the stone ages of rpg's i played terris, a text-based game, then I moved on to everquest, and now im addicted to guild wars. digital crack hehe

I was seriously addicted to Dragonrealms for 5 years straight.. man

 

It's not an MMORPG, but Quake III is addictive as hell.

 

Couple years back i was so addicted to cs 1.6...i skipped 2 months of school just to play that game (not 2 months straight in a row). I slept outside untill my parents left to work just to play...now thats what i call addiction =/ But lately some addictive games are...Silent Hunter III, CS:S, Act of War..and thats about it.
