Two simple tips

    1. When growing in soil put an inch of perlite on top of your soil. It acts as an exellent reflective surface plus stops water evaporating from your soil quite as quickly.
    2. If using HPS or MH bulbs replace them after every crop if possible. This may sound excessive but its amazing how quickly there ouput diminishes.

    I used my dads light meter he is a photographer.
    For example I use 400W HPS ,starting lumens were 52000 after 4 months they had droped to 44000 this is a drop of 8000 lumens. It may not sound much but say its approx 16% . What would be the cost of a 10% drop in your crop yeild. If you only yeild 10 ounces thats a one once drop. I pay 15 pound for my 400W growlux every three months it certainly works out cheaper than any sort of a drop in my yeild.

    Wow, i never knew that a light diminshed like that, that quick atleast!! I'll keep that in mind.....thanks!!
