i just ran a search for the book entitled 'twilight' over at amazon.com. there are about a million books by that title under fantasy, each one by a different author! could you please give us the authors' name so we could know which book your asking us about?
Speaking of, thoughts on Breaking Dawn? I loved it, personally...but apparently there are a lot of folks sippin on that hater-ade. I absolutely cannot wait for the movie~
This series is definitely a guilty pleasure. It's not well written at all, but it's so goood. Breaking Dawn was my favorite of all four personally. People just don't like that Bella had a kid at 19, and that it was so bloody and stuff. I thought the ending was a little cliche, but I don't see how she could have ended it otherwise And yeah, I can't wait for the movie
my girl loves these books. everynight we'd lie in bed and she'd cuddle up next to me complete with her glasses and stephanie meyer book and she would read forever, i've thought of checking them out.
anyone else read the first draft of midnight sun on her webpage? the leaked version? i did.... it was incredible. more obsessed now!!
Right? It's really great to get a better look at the Cullens. Even though Bella was "part of the family", she was still an outsider looking in. Seeing the vamps at home was very gratifying.
<~~OBSESSED. I want to see the movies and the last book. and I live in OREGON which is only 6 hours and 19 mins away from Forks :] mmmmm heaven.
I tried to read it, but couldn't get past the first book... I just don't get it, is it's like a scifi-romance novel for teens?
i got pulled into it. and i have to admit, i like them it's too bad the movie was sort of dumbed-down for kids (i haven't seen it it, but i think i may). the book is full of innuendos that these kids don't realize are there....
The book was well written, yet disgustingly unoriginal and typical, as well as idiotically predictable. The movie was just downright awful in almost every way. Bad acting, bad makeup, bad lines...ugh. Oh and yeah, you're obsessed, just almost EVERYONE ELSE. Honestly. It doesn't deserve the craze, it's just NOT THAT GOOD,
r u kidding? ive never been so obsessed with a series of books in my life.. i only read the first one cos my sis had finished it n i didnt have anything else to read.. i finished all 4 books in a week... theyre unreal...
I loved The Lord of the Rings. I loved Harry Potter. When Twilight became a fad, I thought I might as well check out what everyone was talking about and figured since it was the next "big thing" in fantasy, that I might actually enjoy it. Reading the series was like watching a train wreck. I'm not going to dig into the true hard core Twilight fans. God knows I'm friends with a lot of them, but the series just got worse with each book release and the final book was the biggest waste of my time. After the first book, I was hooked. Edward Cullen was my Heathcliff, my Mr. Rochester. I quickly jumped into New Moon. I felt so much sympathy for Bella, because I'd gone through a similar experience in my past when an ex left. I knew that feeling and that pain, depression. The Volturi, brilliant idea, but I just couldn't get into Jacob Black. I felt he was a pig. He disgusted me. I'm just not drawn to men like him and he was such a big part of the book, I found myself losing interest. Eclipse made me hate him even more. And the fact that Meyers made Edward out to be this perfect "NO SEX UNTIL MARRIAGE." type guy and Bella the "whore" for trying to initiate contact all the time bugged me. And Breaking Dawn was the worst book I've ever read in my life. The ending, completely anti-climatic. The birthing disturbed my senses, as a mother and I felt it was an insult to vampire legend and the pain and experience we women go through during pregnancy. It was poorly written, in terms of grammar and context and beyond the point of overly predictable and mary sue. I read Midnight Sun when it leaked (Twilight written from Edward's POV) and I think she should have gone that route from the very beginning, instead of having Bella as the main character. He just came off less dumb and easier to connect with. Meyers further ruined my opinion of the series when she said she refused to finish Midnight Sun because it got leaked, then proceeded to respond to the backlash of Breaking Dawn by saying "Well I only wrote it for myself, no one else." I'm a writer and to me it's in complete POOR taste to talk about your fans that way. You're providing a service of entertainment and your fans make or break you as an author. It was insulting and she really should have gone through Breaking Dawn and delivered something better, or at least handled the poor reviews better. I lost respect for her. She should have been happy that we wanted more out of her, rather than throwing her hands in the air and crying like a child. It's sad, because to me, from the first book, this series had potential.
mm i love the twilight saga im on breaking dawn, i love anything fantasy and anything to do with vamps
